(( OPS Center, Deck 5, USS Artemis-A ))

Ollie stood in the OPS center, holding his PADD tightly, mesmerized by the urgent yet focused atmosphere that defined their "we do everything, for everyone" approach. This vibrant setting not only fascinated him but also offered a comforting sense of stability. Watching his colleagues collaborate, he found a clarity that assisted him in organizing his tumultuous thoughts. The Center was always something like a reassuring blanket, especially when his mind drifted to troubling subjects he preferred to overlook or when he encountered challenging situations and people he wished to evade.

And Commander Vel was among them. In fact, following the incident in the Sensor Pod, he had successfully evaded him—or, as his colleagues from Earth preferred to say, he had kept a low profile.

But whether he wanted to or not, Ollie Bergman had to go to the lion's den. Commander Adea had recommended a grumpy Tellarite as the one who would mentor, or at least recommend someone to mentor the ensign --  and the Commander wouldn't have done it if he weren't convinced it would help, right?

Ollie let out a sigh as he made his way to the COO's office. Pausing in front of the door, he took a moment to inspect his uniform, smoothing out any wrinkles, straightening his posture, and then rang the bell.

Vel: Response

As the door swung shut behind him, Ollie realized just how poorly he had judged the situation. Should he remain standing? Should he take a seat? When was the right moment to say something? His thoughts started to rush, and the only thing he could hold on to was that drilled sense of non-commissioned for the chain of command and how to navigate interactions with officers.

Bergmen: Ensign Bergmen, sir. Do you have a moment?

Vel: Response

Ensign had to sift through the commander's words carefully to grasp their meaning. It could have been much worse, but there was no turning back now.

Bergmen: Sir, I was referred to you by your peer, Commander Adea, as a great point of recommendation for a mentor. Sir. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer to support my goal of becoming a proper officer. If your schedule is too occupied, I would also welcome recommendations for another suitable mentor you might suggest. Sir.

Vel: Response
