Working with Chevalier Benny was happy to see that the Ensign was able to comply with some movement. Benny raised his head, smiled and nodded at the small victory of the young ensign.
Cliffhigh: Yes it did. But more importantly it moved naturally.
Chevalier: One step at a time, on the road to victory, yes? Basically, every step forward counts until it's one step forward and two back.
Benny again reached for the leg, putting it straight. It was a long road, and not exactly figuratively.
Cliffhigh: You are basically learning to walk again without having to think to take a step forward.
And that isn’t just a physical adjustment. Now ready for another challenge?
Chevalier eagerly nodded in agreement as Benny stood up and opened his arms.
Cliffhigh: Why don’t you try and stand? Again don't force it, just feel it. I will catch you if you lose balance.
Chevalier made a first attempt that didn’t really work out. Benny was slightly concerned but kept his smile as he looked at him and nodded.
Chevalier: Let me try it again.
Chevalier was making an effort, Benny thought it might have been too much of a stretch but he did manage to stand up. Only to lose balance and Benny grab him, preventing his fall.
One advantage of his big complexion was that Benny could easily hold patients.
Chevalier: Agh… It didn't turn out as I expected. Sorry.
Gently sitting Chevalier he shook his head, giving a positive smile.
Cliffhigh: It’s fine, You did manage to stand up. You just need to get used to it.
Chevalier: Response
Benny smiled and raising up Chevalier's leg he set it down straight.
Cliffhigh: I think this is enough of a session for today. I recommend you get some rest.
Chevalier: Response
Cliffhigh: I say you're making progress. It’s a difficult adjustment.
Chevalier: Response
Benny smiled and tapped Chevalier's shoulder.
Cliffhigh: You will make it Ensign. Trust me I have seen enough injuries like this to know.
