This type of work always left D’tin’s heart beating out of her chest. It was delicate but required a sickening amount of force at times. Bones were temperamental things, and she was lucky Jaran was a Bajoran. Without that Breys would have been nearly in the dark. She wiped sweat from her brow and looked to the others.

Breys: Hopefully that's good enough. ::she looks at the stone walls around her for the first time since landing on the raft, and notices the type of rock has changed:: How long did that take? It seems like we're in a completely different area now.

Lt. Commander Silveira set his paddle to the side and let the current take them.

Silveira: It does. And it’s getting wider.

Munro: I'm not sure that's a good thing. How is everyone? :: looks to Jaran :: Everyone else?

D’tin patted herself down. Somehow she was completely intact.

Imril: Response

Jaran: Looks like we made it. ::with a weak smile:: At least no one got hurt, eh?

The look of concern on Breys’s face was not well concealed.

Silveira: Well done Ensign. Doc, glad you rejoined us.

Munro: I'm glad we got you out of that pod. Breys, that's your name right?

Breys: Yes sir, D’tin Breys. That only worked out because I spent so many years on Bajor, thank the Prophets.

Imril: Response

Jaran: I know it's probably a silly question, but do we have any idea, any guess at all, where we are?

The same question had been on Brey’s mind for a while, these walls were strange and seemed artificially made. Something seemed incredibly off.

Silveira: I am pretty sure it’s Callis I.

Munro: :: shrugs :: He's not wrong. We seem to be in some kind of underground estuary. We just don't know where it goes. Or what it's designed for.

With another look around Breys began to take in her surroundings. She could see more than she expected to. The whole area was covered in a strange pinkish purplish haze. The walls towered high, and they floated down a section of river at least ten meters across.

Breys: Estuaries don’t tend to have a purpose right? This place does seem built with intent though.

Imril: Response

Their tactical officer slowly took the paddle back up and rounded the corner. In front of them was a large lake with a ceiling dotted in lavender crystals. They looked almost like stars

Jaran: ::pointing at the dock:: I guess we head toward that? And, umm, I may need a little help for a while…

Silveira: What do you think, Commander? Go back for our boys or find something?

Munro: We're not going back. I think we try and find somewhere to set up camp for the night. Let the doc rest up.

Breys: ::almost under her breath:: Am I the only one that this room feels familiar to?

Imril/Jaran: Response

Something akin to a dock jutted out of the water in front of them. They were slowly rowed over until they got near a point where they could go ashore.

Silveira: We have to be careful, there’s underwater wildlife here.

Munro: Food. Or danger. We need protein that's going to mean hunting or fishing. :: more to Imril :: We can make some traps? For the water?

Breys: Where did you all find the time to build this raft with those things chasing you anyway?

Imril/Jaran: Response

Silveira: Someone will have to help the Doc.

They hit the shore slightly harder than anticipated. D’tin winced thinking about how that must have felt for Jaran.

Munro: Breys, do you mind helping the doc? You seem the most capable?

Breys: Of course! They seem to be my patient for now.

Breys lifted up the doctor and let them lean against her. This was going to be a delicate process, her balance was bad enough without carrying someone.

Imril/Jaran/Silveira: Response

Munro: Careful, it's a bit slimy.

Breys: ::to the doctor:: Just one foot in front of the other. Brace against me if you feel like you’re going to lose your balance.

Imril/Jaran/Silveira: Response

The first officer offered a hand to the doctor and helped Breys get them off of the Raft.

Munro: This seems as good a place as any. Let's secure the raft, and search the area. It would make me feel a whole lot better not to stumble on a nest of the Things.

Breys: I’ll get somewhere to rest set up for Ensign Jaran. Let me know where you need my help after.

Imril/Jaran/Silveira: Response

The lights above her itched at her mind. Somehow she knew them but she couldn’t put her finger on it. With nothing better to do while dragging around rocks and shaping dirt she decided to bring it up.

Breys: This place has something eerie about it. I feel like I’ve looked up at those crystals before. I think there is some kind of pattern to them.

Imril/Jaran/Silveira/Munro: Response

Suddenly it all made sense. With the twinkling of the largest crystal glittering off of her eye she took a moment to soak in the beauty of it. A perfect orchestration of the living nature of our galaxy with the mimicry of life that crystals create.

Breys: Wait, look at the tips of the crystals and think about where we are. Those are the stars. I think they’ve even grown to account for stellar drift. I’m not sure how much time has passed but we should be able to find out.

Imril/Jaran/Silveira/Munro: Response

Suddenly Breys noticed a solitary off color crystal on the far side of the room. It glowed brighter and redder than the others. She pointed towards it.

Breys: Any ideas what that one is supposed to be?

Imril/Jaran/Silveira/Munro: Response
