((Sickbay - Deck 7 - USS Artemis-A))

Genkos could sense a slight wave of unease coming off the woman, and seeing as she’d served on the Artemis before… He decided to risk it and ask.

Adea: I’m sorry, Lieutenant, have we met before?

Vailani: Yes … Well, I was an ensign then ::looking around:: I spent some time here after the Suliban boarded the ship, I got caught up in one of the traps. Don't worry I'm fully healed thanks to your team… I have to admit it was part of the reason I transferred back then.

Genkos smiled at the reference to his team, pleased to hear they’d done their jobs adequately. He cast his mind back, trying to dredge up the name, and it was vaguely familiar - there had been quite a few injuries during that time, and sickbay had ended up quite busy.

Adea: I’m glad to hear it - hopefully you won’t get caught in too many other traps.

She nodded towards the doctor.

Vailani: ::nodding:: Don't worry doctor. I'm a lot different now, in a lot of ways. Stronger.

Genkos’ eyebrow cocked ever so slightly - it was an interesting take on the incident. He wasn’t sure that strength was the solution, but he was happy to be proven wrong.

Adea: I understand… And did we meet? I’m afraid we’ve had a bit of a revolving door recently, and my memory for faces isn’t what it used to be?

Vailani: Last time I was here, you were the first officer. There's a few new faces around but gladly some familiar faces. I'm good friends with Gila, I mean Doctor Sadar - she wouldn't like me being so informal with her superior.

Genkos let out a subtle chuckle as he took that on board. Gila didn’t like a lot of things - according to her therapist, she’d almost thrown a fit when asked to host a dinner party. He almost felt sorry for the woman, except it often seemed like they were problems she’d created for herself.

Adea: Well, we will keep that between us, shall we?

Vailani: Response

Genkos’ tricorder beeped as it finished the scan of her cranium, and he started to move the doohickey down the Bajoran’s body, scanning her vital signs and comparing them to Dr Beck’s baselines from the Ronin.

Adea: So far, so good. ::his brow furrowed a moment:: Your heart rate is a little high; does sickbay make you nervous, Lieutenant?

Vailani: Response

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
