((USS Artemis, deck 2, Holodeck 1))
Nan had pulled him closer, to help her. And it had come so naturally that he could hardly react. Now standing behind her, as in a hug, Vitor directed the aiming arrow, and putting his other hand above Nan’s button hand he gently squeezed, as if he was pressing the button himself. They were both playing…
Together…
He pushed that though aside, trying to focus on the game. In quick succession they launched three of the bubbles. Blue, green and yellow were mixed, but Vitor noticed a spot they could hit.
He directed the aiming “dragons”
They got it. The blue bubble managed to blow up a set of bubbles, and the red was followed by another red. Vitor nodded, and again tapped the back of her hand so Nan could shoot.
Silveira: There, this one to the left but so it can hit that block. The next is red and we take it to the side.
Jovenan: Can we make it?
They were running out of space and time, but the next set of bubbles from the bag were merciful. In quick succession they both tapped and flew the joystick to make it just in the nick of time. Vitor took a deep breath.
Silveira: Damn that was close…
He lowered his head and let his chin rest on her shoulder without even thinking.
Silveira: Ready for the next level?
Nan turned her head slightly, and he felt her cheek on his. His first thought was that he should have shaved. Nan’s warm and soft skin didn't deserve feeling his coarse stubble.
Jovenan: I think I…
Vitor didn't believe in perfection. To him that was something that mortals couldn't achieve. But he believed in perfect moments.
He had experienced several and right now, this moment…
MacKenzie: Mr. Silveira, just what is all ::gesturing wildly:: this?
Was crashed by Zie’s surprise arrival. Nan reacted quickly, stepping away from him and the arcade.
Jovenan: Captain?!
Nan looked embarrassed and startled.
Vitor on the other hand was turning red.
Not embarrassed red, but raging bull red, at the way Zie had so unceremoniously walked in on them.
If it wasn't for Nan’s calming presence, Zie wasn't going to like his reply. So he took a breath, trying to control his words.
Silveira: It's a personal project.
Zie raised an eyebrow and Vitor almost stepped closer to Nan, who was visibly uncomfortable with the situation.
Zie pointed at something and Vitor looked in that direction.
Was she pointing at the arcade or…
He raised an eyebrow realising that there were a pair of… Dolls resting near them…
He had been so distracted with Nan it was the first time he saw them.
MacKenzie: What’s that there??
Jovenan: This? ::looks and points at the console, then turns her head back to MacKenzie:: This is, uh…
Nan looked at him, and Vitor turned to Zie.
The MacKenzie glare was legendary. He knew he had been the target of it.
Vitor also had a stern expression, used less often.
If it wasn’t for Nan’s presence, somehow being with her eased his overly emotional ways, he would likely have gifted Zie with it.
Instead he put on his most yellow smile, as that old portuguese expression said, before replying.
Silveira: That game is called Puzzle Bubble, or Bust a Move, depending on where in Earth you played it. Those… ::he pointed to the dolls:: I have no idea, but likely the evidence that you're not the first intruder to enter… Captain
MacKenzie: Response
Jovenan: Vitor, uh, Lieutenant Silveira was showing me his new project, sir. Uh, Earth… cultural… history…
Vitor took a step closer to Nan.
Silveira: I am building an old 20th century Earth Arcade, with games for the crew to enjoy.
MacKenzie: Response
Jovenan: The Lieutenant had actually picked a game for you, too, sir. Maybe you would want to see it?
Nan nudged, but without touching him.
He tipped his head and offered Zie a proper grin. Not that he wasn't still mad at her, but that was something they had shared and finding out something that amused Zie had been a good bonus.
Silveira: Well, since our joyride in Demes I was wondering if we could repeat that experience. So when I was picking up arcades, or games, yours popped up instantly. ::He gestured to the labyrinth of arcades:: Shall we?
MacKenzie: Response
Vitor nodded and discreetly winked at Nan as he stepped forward. He passed by the dolls finally realizing there was more than just those toys.
There was a written note: “Nice scores you got there, too bad I beat them”
Vitor shook his head and folded the paper, putting it in his pocket.
He stopped looking at the two dolls. They were actually pretty cute.
Mini Al did justice to their Ops/Helm officer. And the other one was clearly a representation of him. In a Toga. He had to plan a payback, but he couldn’t deny that Al outsmarted him, and in a way it was a good way to calm down.
Silveira: It looks like the other intruder had some fun, and beat my high scores. ::he pointed to the figurines:: I think we all know who that is.
Jovenan/MacKenzie: Response
Vitor blushed slightly.
Silveira:
That’s me in my Toga… I have one and Al… Ensign Lyara had seen me wearing it.Vitor picked them up and as he pressed mini Al she spoke, almost startling him.
Mini-Alroyo: Eat my dust!
Vitor narrowed his eyes and raised an eyebrow. He pressed his own little doppelganger and sure enough he also spoke.
Mini-Silveira: I’m not superstitious, it brings bad luck.
Vitor turned to Zie and Nan, and shrugged.
Silveira: Well, that’s actually true…
Jovenan/MacKenzie: Response
He put the mini plushies down and gestured again to Zie and Nan.
Silveira: Looks like we have another player in town. Now, want to see that
racing car of yours Captain?Jovenan/MacKenzie: Response
