// First Officer's Log, Stardate 240301 …
It has been … 5 days? 6 days since the crash?
We have survived.
Somehow we have survived.
Since the escape from the structure that I suspect had been a radio tower at some point but, with all things about the past of this planet, it is a guess.
We have managed to determine that something catastrophic occurred here. We are uncertain if it's linked to the Maelstrom or not? Another mystery…
Myself, Doctor Jaran, Lt. Cmdr Silveira and Lt. Imril have discovered a series of underground tunnels … with what may have been a water sewer system. It has been perilous …
We fashioned a makeshift floatation device that has allowed us to stay ahead of the creatures … but they are there, stalking us. I fear that that are testing us, waiting for a weakness…
… Then they shall strike.
Our rations are now gone. Hunger has settled in. We have managed to gain access through old disused shafts to the surface, where we discovered a damaged escape pod near the entrance to one of the shafts. It was too dangerous to approach as the creatures had surrounded it… it may have been my imagination but I thought I heard someone inside… another survivor…
Our attempts at hunting have been futile and stopping to set up a permanent camp is not an option while the beasts stalk us… so we keep moving.
Thankfully we have water in abundance here. But we will need a permanent food source and today we make way for the escape pod… if someone did survive they need our help …

((Somewhere in the jungle, near the escape pod - Callis I))
The daylight of the planet struggled to push its way through the dense canopy of the jungle, and Ava felt like every shadow could be one of the creatures.
They were lucky. The escape pod seemed to be free of them… they were less active during the day, slower, but not always. Those eyes seemed to always be watching them.
Waiting…
They were several feet away from the pod, which was badly damaged around the door and now scratched with claw marks…
Munro: Imril, how do you suggest we get that door opened?
Imril: Response
Silveira/Jaran: Response
Munro: It'll need to work. Even if no one is alive inside we can use the supplies that might be inside.
As if to emphasise this point, her stomach rumbled.
Imril/Silveira/Jaran: Response
The group approached carefully, her eyes scanned each shadow, every movement of a branch in the breeze and as they approached the door was at an odd inverted angle but she was able to see inside. A woman was inside, wearing a blue Starfleet uniform.
Alive.
Breys: Response
Munro: Hold on! We're going to try and get you out!
Breys: Response
Imril/Silveira/Jaran: Response
