((Docking Port 06 - Deep Space Nine))

Talos Dakora stood in a loose queue of eager tourists that had formed just outside the still-closed hatch to Docking Port 06.

A simple kiosk– as of yet, unmanned– bore the logo of the Nova Gamma Borealis Tour Company, an outfit that touted its status as the only Gamma Quadrant tour provider officially licensed by the Government of Bajor on all its adverts.

Scanning the diverse crowd, he noted a mixture of solo travelers, families, and couples. Though he’d posted an open invite to anyone who was interested on the Artemis’ ship notice board, he wasn’t sure if any of his crew would take him up on the offer.

That was fine. Wearing a simple black long-sleeved shirt and a pair of comfortable jeans, he was ok with just being a tourist today. Not a Starfleet Lieutenant Commander, not the First Officer of the USS Artemis.

Just Talos.

From somewhere up ahead he heard a small voice whine.

Child: I don’t want to go in the wormy-hole! That’s scary!

He peered over the shoulders of the other patrons, spotting a Barzan child tugging on his mother’s tunic anxiously.

Mother: It’s a wormhole Avhan, and it’s ok to be afraid. But we can’t let our fear keep us from exploring. You are safe with me.

Seemingly placated by the answer, the child hugged his mother’s leg tightly and Talos smiled to himself as he resumed his patient waiting. Hearing footfalls behind him, he turned to see Savel approaching.

Dakora: Mister Savel. ::He beamed.:: I was wondering if anyone from the Artemis was going to take me up on this offer.

Savel: Response

Talos had grown rather fond of the stoic Vulcan security officer over the past year. However, it remained unclear if Savel reciprocated. After the rather unique– and uncomfortably personal– mission they’d just endured, Talos liked to imagine even a Vulcan would be feeling a sense of familiarity at this point.

Dakora: I see. ::He shrugged.:: I’ve never had a chance to make it to the Gamma Quadrant and since we were right here, on leave, I figured I had no excuse. Besides, I hear this NGB Tours outfit is the real deal. I hear they've even got exclusive access to some of the yet-uncharted areas.

Savel: Response

As the hatch slid open to the Docking port, a squat Bolian man stepped out and manned the kiosk. He began the process of checking each of the tourists in and the queue began to slowly amble forward.

Dakora:  I wonder if anyone else from the Artie is going to make it?

Savel/Any: Response

((OOC: Anyone who wants to go on a little side adventure, feel free to jump in! Since this is shore leave, you can also have other scenes running in parallel on DS9/Bajor!))
