It wasn’t that Risa wasn’t absolutely amazing and not that she hadn’t wanted to spend more time with Talos, but he had work to do and Sam was itching to get back to what she knew best. Science.
Not only was she ready to get back into work, but the department Chief was someone she was quite fond of. While their initial meeting on the Borg Cube hadn’t been one of Sam’s brightest moments, they did get to come together when Sam visited the Artemis again. Where Sam had undoubtedly overshared with the poor Edo woman and spilled her guts about her and Talos.
While Sam hadn’t told Jovenan about their impending arrivals, it was no doubt impossible to miss now. Her now rounded out form was a hard to miss sign that she and Talos were more than just dating, but soon to be parents.
The day wasn’t about catching up, they would undoubtedly set aside time for that later. The day was about that sweet sweet science.
Jovenan: Welcome to the Artemis!::pause:: Again, I should say.
Richards: Thank you! It’s good to be back and even better to know I am staying.
Jovenan gestured around the Science Center to show it off. It was undeniably smaller than what Sam was used to, but she may have asked Talos to send her all the info on the Science Center before she made the decision to transfer. She couldn’t have made the choice as easily if she knew what she was walking into was sub-par.
Jovenan: I hope you’ve already received a thorough introduction to the ship and had at least some time to relax on Risa, because if it’s okay, I’d like to get straight to work. ::points around:: This is the Science Centre, where most of our research facilities are, including the Astrometrics and the Geology Lab. My office is also here, let’s pop in there for a moment to chat so we don’t bother the people working here.
Sam gave an affirmative nod before Jovenan led them into her office.
((Chief of Science’s Office- Deck 9, USS Artemis))
Jovenan: I’ve got some of your old work here, but I’d like to hear more. What kind of research projects have you been engaged in recently?
Sam settled herself into a chair and interlaced her fingers before resting them across her belly.
Richards: Well, it wasn’t long ago I got to do a planetary survey of Gramineae IV and helped sort through the findings and did research on some of the bioluminescent flowers we found and we were even able to start growing some of them in the Botany Labs. My latest bit of research was on a Chalcopyrite Crystal asteroid we found just hangin’ out in the DQ. I unfortunately had to pass that off before I left, but it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.
Jovenan: Response
Richards: I do specialize in Planetary Science, but I did take some Botany and Astrometric courses at MSU, so I feel like I am fairly well rounded. ::Rubbing her belly:: In more ways than one.
It was a silly joke, and Sam knew it.
Jovenan: Response
Richards: I am curious as to what kind of research has been going on here? What’s a typical day look like here in the Science Center?
Jovenan: Response
