((The Shaded Roads - Central District Underground, Fereng- Ferenginar))

It came as a minor surprise that the reason the Ferengi salesman had been so pliable in their negotiations was the fact that the statuette was broken. Tamio laughed at the situation, as did Charlotte seated across from them.

Brexis: Jokes on him, I bet you can fix it up and give it a new healthy layer of glitter. Make it better than before?

Tamio found Charlotte’s pre-emptive assumptions about their sculpting skills interesting. Not that they figured the repair job would be particularly difficult, but it was uncommon for someone to look at a complete stranger and assume that they knew how to repair alien sculptures at a glance.

K’Wara: It’ll be beautiful once it gets fixed up. ::picks up the statue:: I have no doubt it’s fixable. Probably just some glitter stuck in a system somewhere.

Brexis: It didn’t seem to dampen your mood at all. A strong side is imperative when it comes to ::gesturing around vaguely:: this place.

K’Wara: Not particularly. ::smiles:: Play the bartering game, you win some, you lose some. Especially once you’ve been here a couple of times. ::takes a sip of chom:: It’s part of the charm.

They had no doubt that no small number of individuals had run into a wall trying to get Ferengi to accommodate their native perceptions of good business conduct, but when on Ferenginar, the Ferengi business paradigm reigned supreme. A deal had been struck, and there was no sense arguing with the deal after the fact. All it would result in would be them branded as problematic buyers in the Shaded Roads, and Tamio wasn’t interested in that kind of reputation.

Besides, the sculpture would get that much more meaning if Tamio had to actually work for it.

Brexis: You might just be my new favorite person to shop for oddly shaped glittery objects with.

They looked up from their inspection of the statue towards the blonde officer, a raised eyebrow at her decision.

K’Wara: A lofty statement during a first meeting. ::smiles:: I’m honored.

Charlotte reached for the statue, and Tamio handed it over readily.

Brexis: This though. Pure work of art. Artistic in all the right areas. Just suggestive enough to know what they were aiming for. ::Shaking her head:: Beautiful. Just beautiful.

Tamio didn’t respond, instead finishing up their cup of chom as they considered the officer in front of them. They still didn’t have a good grasp on her - and still wasn’t sure how good of a grasp she had on them, for that matter - but that’s part of what made working with people interesting. Only boring people wore their entire personality on their sleeve. Some enigma served to entice the imagination.

oO Probably be a muted gold? Orange-reddish hue, or it would clash with the hair. Definitely something sparkly Oo

Brexis: Well ::clapping her hands together once:: Where to now? You shopped out? Or have other destinations on your itinerary?

They shook their head as they stood up to toss their empty chom-cup into the nearby wastebin.

K’Wara: In my experience, one can never be truly ‘shopped out’, but alas, I’ve got to leave some shelf room for other oddities.

Brexis: Response

They looked at the Ferenginar natives walking past the eatery, examining their outfits with a scrutinizing look. Barring the rather obvious complication of the Shaded Roads catering to a mostly Ferengi-clientele - and thus being unlikely to stock many clothing items for alien physiques - there was also the aesthetic dimension to consider.

K’Wara: Hmm... Not really my style. The colors are too dark.

Brexis: Response

That idea, on the other hand, Tamio could definitely get behind.

K’Wara: Aha! Well, there’s a shop somewhere near here that sells the most fantastic studs. I’ve been in the market for some new accessories.

Brexis: Response
