After a successful haggling session with the shopkeeper, Tamio gathered their loot and lowered their voice as they walked by Charlotte.
K’Wara: ::low whisper:: Don’t break his heart too bad.
Charlotte returned the sentiment with a smirk and a nod. Tamio left the shop, while the Ferengi shopkeeper listened intently to Charlotte giving him the low down on the code.
Which was also a bunch of nonsense.
With her head held high and hands clasped behind her back, Charlotte sauntered out of the shop. Tamio waved their hand to gesture her over in their direction. They raised their cup towards her as they sipped on the straw.
K’Wara: Did he cry?
Brexis: ::Chuckling:: Only a little. ::Reaching into her pocket:: He saw things my way and decided to throw in an extra set of batteries for my kindness.
She may have let it slip that she was there with the Federation Starship orbiting the planet to help dissuade him from getting cranky with her.
K’Wara: ::smirks:: Methods aside, your effectiveness is impressive.
Brexis: ::Sitting down at the table:: What do you say we stick some of the batteries in and see what this thing does!
K’Wara: ::nods:: This’ll be exciting.
With an excited smile, she turned the statue over to find a small opening for the batteries. She stuck them in and handed it back over to Tamio.
Brexis: You do the honors. Turn it on!
K’Wara: Don’t mind if I do.
What happened after it was turned on not only shocked her, but made her uncontrollably laugh. She only hoped Tamio was having as much of a blast as she was. The poor statuette made an attempt to light up its eyes and move its limbs before making a grinding screech and stopping.
K’Wara: ::laughs happily:: No wonder he was so happy to negotiate! Ah, we got had.
Brexis: Jokes on him, I bet you can fix it up and give it a new healthy layer of glitter. Make it better than before?
K’Wara: It’ll be beautiful once it gets fixed up. ::picks up the statue:: I have no doubt it’s fixable. Probably just some glitter stuck in a system somewhere.
Charlotte nodded and gave them a smile.
Brexis: It didn’t seem to dampen your mood at all. A strong side is imperative when it comes to ::gesturing around vaguely:: this place.
K’Wara: Not particularly. ::smiles:: Play the bartering game, you win some, you lose some. Especially once you’ve been here a couple of times. ::takes a sip of chom:: It’s part of the charm.
She nodded again, in agreement. While she had never spent time on Ferenginar before, she was efficient when it came to haggling with them.
Brexis: You might just be my new favorite person to shop for oddly shaped glittery objects with.
K’Wara: Response
Charlotte picked up the mushroom topped statue.
Brexis: This though. Pure work of art. Artistic in all the right areas. Just suggestive enough to know what they were aiming for. ::Shaking her head:: Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Looking back up at Tamio, she laughed.
K’Wara: Response
Brexis: Well ::clapping her hands together once:: Where to now? You shopped out? Or have other destinations on your itinerary?
K’Wara: Response
