Vitor took Genkos invitation to open up, and so he did, mentioning Nan and what he was feeling for her, and how he fumbled it. It clearly confused Genkos.
Vitor frowned, surprised. Didn’t Genkos realise he had always called Nan… As Nan.
Granted it was one of those silly abbreviations of his. Like Zie, Sher, or Sada.

And Jo… Well, there was only one Jo in his life

Silveira: Nan… Jovenan. I always called her Nan. Who were you thinking?

Genkos let out a short laugh, before attempting, and failing, to assume a serious expression.

Adea: It doesn’t matter.

Vitor rolled his eyes and shook his head. He picked up the newly served gin and took a long sip, before speaking again.

Silveira: OK, then with full names now. I have growing feelings for Jovenan, but she thinks I am projecting what I felt for Jovenan. She vehemently stated that. Even after I told her I can tell them apart. And they aren’t that much alike. I never had a chance to know Jovenan as I know Jovenan. I have proudly seen her become a magnificent officer. Strong, smart, positive and… Well anyway I messed it up when I replied to Jovenan she couldn’t ever replace Jovenan.

Adea: Oh Vitor, I can understand that. From both your points of view. Sure, you’re starting to develop feelings for Jovenan, it makes sense. But look at it her side - she might feel like you’d be comparing her to her counterpart. And that woman died for us, was a martyr for us. Our Jovenan could never live up to that.

Vitor leaned back. He knew Genkos was giving him another view of the matter, and more likely a rational and weighted one. But what else could he do to make sure he wasn’t?

The more he pondered over it the more he was sure that he knew Nan much better than Jo.
And the closer he felt to her…

Exasperated, he opened his arms.

Silveira: Jo is irreplaceable, and I would never do that to Nan. What can I say or do to make it clearer?

Genkos held up his palm

Adea: No, no, I’m not saying you would be. But she’s going to feel like that - it’s only natural. My suggestion would be to leave it alone for a while, let things settle for a bit. You’re both a bit raw, and it’s only natural we want to wiggle our tongue over a raw nerve, but you have to remember. It also hurts.
That… That struck an old nerve. Again he was being selfish… He frowned, and reached for his glass, finishing it in just a sip.
The taste of the gin still burning in his throat he raised the glass and ordered another one.

Silveira: In short, I am still the same selfish idiot and keep doing things under my terms without considering the feelings of others. ::he shook his head and took the newly served gin.:: Thank’s Genkos, but Sher already mentioned that… Almost three years ago in Risa.

Adea: Response

Vitor took another long sip emptying half the glass.

Silveira: Again not my brightest moment. I have a huge collection of those. ::He raised his glass to Genkos.:: One day I might get it right. Want to drink to that?

Adea: Response

Vitor smiled and effusively struck his gin glass in Genkos pint. He grinned and poured it down in a sip. Considering it was the third one, practically in a row, Vitor was letting the warmness of the alcohol settle in. He leaned back and opened his arms.

Silveira: I had a crazy idea. Let’s get a matching tattoo. ::He leaned forward opening his hands, as if he was picturing a sign.:: Something like “I survived Frontier Day and all I got was this tattoo.”

Adea: Response
