((Outside Intelligence Suite, Deck 08, USS Artemis))
Jovenan wasn’t sure if she should be here. Intelligence agencies had a reputation of secrecy and extreme measures of security. That might not be as much the case with intelligence officers posted on ships, but Jovenan still felt like she was doing something prohibited just by standing outside the office. And the same deck had all the high-speed action spots – security offices, armoury, brig, even the phaser arrays. Just idly standing here felt suspicious.
She looked down at her PADD. Stored to it was the report Kawarda had sent her when she had been on the ground. He had completed the analysis Jovenan had started by Lt Dakora’s request. She hadn’t had the time to read the report earlier, being too busy shooting Betazoids and Da’al. But all that done, she hadn’t wasted much time reading the report and appearing here.
She read it once more.

BEGIN REPORT
Science Officer: Ensign Kahwa'Ra-De
Subject: Telemetry Analysis of Meteor-to-Meteorite D-7883g(term)
Summary:
Known: Meteor followed natural intra-stellar orbital path until
240002.18 2214.25hrs
Possibility 1: At precisely 2214.26hrs, a force of 18.2
kilojoules was exerted in either
an attracting or repelling force upon the then-meteor. (form of force is
unknown, and therefore point of origin cannot be calculated to greater
than 50% confidence.)
Probability: 82.35%
Possibility 2: At precisely 2214.26hrs, an impact of an
object with mass and speed
equalling 18.5 kilojules caused both rotation and modification of vector
of the meteor.
Probability: 74.16%
Possibility 3: D-7883g(term) encountered a subspace
anomaly resulting from a
quantum bubble, which redirected the meteor to an impact vector with
the Da'al homeworld.
Probability: 44.51%
Synthesis: Regardless of the possibility, there is a 99.84% probability
meteorite
D-7883g(term) was redirected intentionally to impact the
Da'al homeworld.
Motivation, perpetrators, methodology, and current status
are unknown, and cannot
be extrapolated from current dataset.

She had a breath. Yes, this was important enough to bother Lieutenant Dakora. She rang the doorbell.
Dakora: Response
Jovenan: Lieutenant! I, uh, have the analysis report on why the meteor hit the city. The one I started with you in the Astrometrics. Ensign Kawarda completed the analysis and filed a report on it. I thought you should read it.
Dakora: Response
Jovenan: The analysis isn’t perfect, but it seems that the meteor strike… it was neither natural nor accidental.
