After Charlotte and Tamio put the batteries in the sculpture and watched it attempt to light up and move before seizing on itself. Luckily they both laughed and accepted the fate of the interesting little oddity. Tamil could fix it, make it better. Charlotte had no doubt about that.
Brexis: It didn’t seem to dampen your mood at all. A strong side is imperative when it comes to ::gesturing around vaguely:: this place.
K’Wara: Not particularly. ::smiles:: Play the bartering game, you win some, you lose some. Especially once you’ve been here a couple of times. ::takes a sip of chom:: It’s part of the charm.
She nodded again, in agreement. While she had never spent time on Ferenginar before, she was efficient when it came to haggling with them.
Brexis: You might just be my new favorite person to shop for oddly shaped glittery objects with.
Tamio looked up from the statue and raised an eyebrow. Charlotte always did her best to be completely respectful of others when it came to their thoughts and feelings. Years of training to keep her mental barriers in place was an absolute must when it came to being a respectable Starfleet Officer. In some instances, she would let them drop just enough to help her gauge a situation better. Which felt appropriate in that moment as Tamio raised their eyebrow.
She wasn’t surprised that the Cygnian seemed to feel some kind of hesitation when it came to how open and willing Charlotte was to make a relatively bold statement. It was a part of the Brexis charm. At least that’s what she told herself.
K’Wara: A lofty statement during a first meeting ::smiles:: I’m honored.
Charlotte picked up the mushroom topped statue to move the conversation along.
Brexis: This though. Pure work of art. Artistic in all the right areas. Just suggestive enough to know what they were aiming for. ::Shaking her head:: Beautiful. Just beautiful.
Looking back up at Tamio, who seemed deep in thought for a moment.
Brexis: Well ::clapping her hands together once:: Where to now? You shopped out? Or have other destinations on your itinerary?
They shook their head as they stood up to discard their empty cup.
K’Wara: In my experience, one can never be truly ‘shopped out’, but alas, I’ve got to leave some shelf room for other oddities.
Brexis: Fair enough. ::glancing around at the nearby shops:: Maybe we could find some outfits?
As soon as she said it, she realized even if they said yes, there was a very small chance that the Ferengi would have anything that fit either of them, or was the look either of them typically went for.
K’Wara: Hmm… Not really my style. The colors are too dark.
Charlotte pursed her lips to the side, thinking about other possibilities.
Brexis: What about some accessories? Earrings, necklaces, scarves ::waving her hand around vaguely:: And things alike.
K’Wara: Aha! Well, there’s a shop somewhere near here that sells the most fantastic studs. I’ve been in the market for some new accessories.
With a smile and an affirmative nod, Charlotte gestured to the shops before stopping and glancing back at Tamio.
Brexis: Studs. ::beat:: As in earrings? Or men ::beat:: Shirtless studs. Because either way I’m game.
She made a vain attempt to hide her smirk.
K’Wara: Response
Brexis: No! I am not suggesting you can buy people here! ::breaking into laughter and holding up her hands:: Maybe I was implying a ‘look but don't touch’ kind of situation. Studs, semi-sentient plants, holo-recreations of long-dead authors… you know, whatever floats your hoversled.
Was she suggesting they go look to a dance club? Maybe. Did she expect Tamio to say no? Absolutely. Ferenginar’s Shaded Roads most likely didn’t have those sorts of things anyway.
K’Wara: Response
Brexis: ::clearing her throat:: Right. Accessories. ::nodding:: Just accessories.
It was obvious her attempts to hide her laughter were painful as she continued to play out the scenario in her head.
