The emergency drill had been going as well as it could until Lyara had found herself slipping on a puddle of blood. However, her fear of blood had caused her to freeze up while she was giving instructions to her fellow test takers.

Lyara: We have to… I think we… ::Taking a deep shaky breath:: Teleport the patients.

It was a fairly common phenomenon that when she interacted with blood in any way she’d start to freeze up, and possibly pass out or vomit. She had no idea how it developed or when, she only remembered the first time it happened during the academy in a medical class. One moment she was watching instructions on how to treat combat wounds and the next she woke up in the nurse's office with one of her classmates checking up on her.

Imril at least did not have her aversion to blood and acted quickly to snap her out of it.

Imril: :: Speaking calmly but firmly, in Bajoran:: We can do this. You can do it. Look at me. Look at the room around you. Feel the scanner in your hand. Listen to yourself breathe. It’s almost over. We just have a little more work to do. Alright?

While their gesture was made with good intentions, it confused her already shocked state as her brain failed to process properly how the Bactrican was suddenly speaking in native Bajoran.

Lyara: ::Responding in Bajoran:: What did you just say to me?

Imril quickly moved to check their padd while Lyara tried her best to comprehend the situation as it developed. Trying to not mind the blood on her she started her breathing techniques to help get her centered.

Imril: We can’t trust the ship’s transporter bays now. But Shuttlecraft Altas hasn’t evacuated yet. I’m tying into its systems, hijacking its transporters… And beaming… Now!

The patients vanished into the familiar blue energy of the transporters, thankfully they were safe for now. However the two officers in the sickbay were not safe as a deep wail echoed through the room as the lights went out. Once the emergency lights came back on it was enough to distract her from the blood all over her and snap back to reality.

Imril: ::Reading an alert from their Padd:: Atlas couldn't wait for us. We’re on our own.

Ral: =/\= You still have a time left. There’s a chance the lifeboats are still functioning... if they’re still there. =/\=

Lyara hated the taunting tone of the chief as they were deciding what to do with the remaining patients. It was a simulation not a horror program, the taunting felt unnecessary and like she wanted them to fail. And she did not need that bouncing around in her head.

Imril switched the flashlight mode of their padd on and pointed to one of the stretchers.

Imril: This one! Let’s move!

Lyara: Alright, you get the one with the swollen brain. I’ll get the one with collapsed lungs. Then internal being one of us can carry there.

She quickly moved to lift the patient for transport to the stretcher.

Imril: Response

Lyara: We can save them all if we squeeze these two ::pointing to two patients:: just a little together. I’ll grab an extra medkit so we can treat them on the pod.

Alroyo placed the patient onto the stretcher then ran to grab one of the medkits and swung it over shoulder. Thankfully, even if she passed out during classes she had a best friend who would go over notes with her, blood not included. Also, when one helps a medical cadet with their homework you pick up a thing or two. She'd probably have to walk Imril through it, but that was a problem for future Lyara.

Imril: Response

Lyara: You push the stretcher, I'll carry him. There’s a lifepod not too far from here where we can treat them.

With haste, she helped the patient with internal bleeding up and swung his arm around her shoulder. Although an intense task on her still uncomfortable arm, the walk wouldn’t be a problem if it meant saving at least one holographic life.
