Genkos smirked and tried not to punch the air, and instead satisfied himself with a definitive finger point. Vitor laughed and nodded, his cheeks growing a little redder. 

Adea: Aha! I knew it - the rumours are true!

Silveira: Sometimes they are. And you already knew that.

Genkos pursed his lips in a subtle show of amusement. 

Adea: I couldn’t possibly comment on that… But I’m glad to see you happy. How, if you don’t mind, how did it happen?

Vitor nodded, and Genkos relaxed, folding his arms behind the back of his head. In the corner of his vision, he could just about make out Toto, who appeared to be terrorising a crab further down the beach.

Silveira: Yeah, we let things just… Happen. I mean when we… ::he smiled and used the same expression Nan told Sada:: Officialized it I don’t think we were really intending on that. It just came along as we spoke and shared our feelings… ::He shrugged happily remembering the talk in Nan’s office.:: And history was made.

Genkos smiled, his eyes a little wistful - the ugly head of jealousy had slightly reared in the back of his mind. Vitor was lucky - Jovenan wasn’t likely to go anywhere, but in a few short days Kalianna would be on the other side of the quadrant. But he threw that thought aside, this wasn’t about him.

Adea: I’m happy for you… for you both. ::his face turned serious for a moment:: But, I will say, you have a tricky path ahead.

Vitor smiled, before he winked at Genkos, who chortled.

Silveira: Don’t worry, we can be professional, although I certainly won’t hide it. After all, we are the first couple of the senior staff now. And my girlfriend is the smartest and cutest of the ship.

Genkos held up a single, slender finger.

Adea: I won’t disagree with you, but only because we don’t serve with Kalianna any more.

Silveira: Response

Genkos swung his legs onto the sand and sat on the edge of his seat, looking at Vitor seriously for a moment.

Adea: But you will, you’ll both be, be worried about each other. This is it now - that knot in the pit of your stomach, that ball of tense fear - you’ll have that for the rest of your lives together. ::he grinned:: But it’s totally worth it, my dear friend.
