((Sickbay, USS Artemis-A))

Genkos waved the dermal regenerator casually in Tho’Bi’s field of view. He’d heard how the Andorian had received the injury, told him not to tell the Captain, and now it was his job to treat it.

Adea: Sit still a moment as I run this over your cheek, take care of that in a jiffy.

The ensign sat bolt upright and completely still. He was quiet as the good Doctor began to run the regenerator on the Andorian’s cheek. The silence proved too much for the anxious young ensign.

Tho’Bi: Have you read any medical studies on the subject of anxiety in Andorians and wonky antennae? ::pointing at his antenna, and nodding:: my antennae feel wonky when I’m anxious.

Genkos opened his mouth to respond, but a familiar voice interjected.

MacKenzie: Dr. Adea doesn’t often busy himself with the work usually left to the counselors. ::extending her hand:: I’m Captain MacKenzie, and you must be Ensign Tho’Bi.

Tho’Bi: Yes, Sir. Ma’am. Captain. :: Shakes MacKenzie’s hand ::

Genkos nodded to Addison in greeting, continuing to heal his patient.

Adea: Captain.

She smiled and nodded at the newest addition to the Artemis crew.

MacKenzie: A pleasure to have you aboard, Ensign. ::gesturing to the wound:: What happened there?

Genkos stayed silent, preferring to let the Ensign either creatively tell the story, or be completely truthful. Instead he focused on healing the cut on Tho’Bi’s cheek, ensuring that there wasn’t a scar left behind.

Tho’Bi: :: stood to attention with his eyes fixed in front of him :: An altercation with two Andorian Imperial Guards. They attempted to goad me into a fight by insulting my parents. I lost my temper and shoved one of them. The second of the two guards must have already had a Chaka blade to hand. :: looks at MacKenzie :: I take full responsibility for the incident and apologize. I let the uniform down :: gaze returns to in front of him ::

Genkos’ eyes flicked over to Addison’s, which narrowed slightly as she listened to Tho’Bi recount the tale.

MacKenzie: I see… Looks like Dr. Adea has done impeccable work repairing the wound, as usual.

Tho’Bi: Yes, Captain. ::turning to Genkos:: Thank you, Doctor.

Genkos turned the regenerator off.

Adea: You’re too kind, Captain. But thank you. And you’re welcome, Ensign.

Adea: Have you had time to have a tour of the ship, yet Ensign?

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
