(( Sickbay – Deck 7, USS Artemis-A ))

In general, the commanding officer of the Artemis didn’t make it a point to seek out new crew members for their placement orders. Since Genkos had pinged her that one of the newest arrivals happened to be in Sickbay, it seemed as good a time as any. Always wanting to make a good impression, she made her way into Sickbay and nearly started the Andorian out of his skin.

MacKenzie: Dr. Adea doesn’t often busy himself with the work usually left to the counselors. ::extending her hand:: I’m Captain MacKenzie, and you must be Ensign Tho’Bi.

Tho’Bi’s feet hit the deck with a resounding thud, his spine suddenly so rigid she considered the possibility it might snap.

Tho’Bi: Yes, Sir.  Ma’am.  Captain.  :: Shakes MacKenzie’s hand ::

Genkos nodded to her.

Adea: Captain.

She smiled and nodded.

MacKenzie: A pleasure to have you aboard, Ensign. ::gesturing to the wound:: What happened there?

The Andorian hesitated a moment, clearly trying to swiftly weigh the costs and benefits of being forthright with her, knowing that there may be very real consequences to whatever choice he made.

Tho’Bi:  :: stood to attention with his eyes fixed in front of him :: An altercation with two Andorian Imperial Guards.  They attempted to goad me into a fight by insulting my parents.  I lost my temper and shoved one of them.  The second of the two guards must have already had a Chaka blade to hand. :: looks at MacKenzie :: I take full responsibility for the incident and apologize.  I let the uniform down :: gaze returns to in front of him ::

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she listened to him recount the tale. She had to admit the new officer was either a fool for telling her, or someone with integrity. It was too early for her to make that assessment, but she appreciated his honesty nonetheless.

MacKenzie: I see… Looks like Dr. Adea has done impeccable work repairing the wound, as usual.

Tho’Bi:  Yes, Captain.  :: turns to Adea ::  Thank you, Doctor.  :: gaze returns to in front of him ::

Genkos turned the regenerator off.

Adea: You’re too kind, Captain. But thank you. And you’re welcome, Ensign.

MacKenzie: I see Sickbay remains in good hands.

Tho’Bi: Responses

Adea: Have you had time to have a tour of the ship, yet Ensign?

Tho’Bi: Response

MacKenzie: ::nodding:: Probably the right decision. Do you have your orders somewhere?

Adea/Tho’Bi: Responses

She waited for him to produce the PADD. After a moment, it was in her hands and she was looking it over.

MacKenzie: Well it seems everything is in order here… ::handing the PADD to Adea:: I suppose you can sign off on your portion of this.

Adea/Tho’Bi: Response

MacKenzie offered a friendly smile.

MacKenzie: Well, with that business taken care of, tell me a little bit about yourself. How did you find yourself to the Artemis?

Tho’Bi/Adea: Response
