((Kerrit Dromos Race Track - City One, Rylor))

Vailani: I painted a horghan once on Risa. That confirmed to me that I have no artistic talent outside of a Holodeck. Pottery and sculpting are very similar, yes?

K’Wara reeled at that comment, as though physically struck by the image of this most taciturn of Command officers holding a Risan sex idol.

Imril: I met someone back on Risa whose whole body was covered in little body-paint horghans. Good dancer.

The meaning of such skin-tight symbology… Imril could only guess.

Storm: Not quite the same thing as sculpting, but there are some similarities.

K’Wara: Same fundamental principles, at least. My fingers may not get dirty while doing holosculpting, but it’s still about translating what you see with your mind’s eye to a material.

Lieutenant Vailani stood up with sharp haste.

Vailani: I'm going to go :: looks to the others :: It's the sun and the wind. I need to … go.

And so she went.

K’Wara: … Lieutenant?

Imril: Bye!

What else could they say?

Storm: Response

Tamio shook their head.

K’Wara: Who knows? ::looks back:: Ah, they’ve crossed the halfway mark!

Imril: Oh, yeah! … ::Softer, disappointed:: Oh.

Was Roy slowing down even further?

Oh, well. What was the loss of a wager in a society where money didn’t matter?

Storm: Response

K’Wara: I really should’ve bet something. ::snaps their fingers:: This’ll teach me to let an opportunity pass me by!

Roy crouched down to... Do something… Something that wasn’t running. For a brief moment, Imril surrendered to fear that he’d given up. Their faith in him was restored when he rose up again to continue the race.

Imril launched into another couple cheers for their friend. At this point, they were rooting for him to keep pressing forwards and cross the finish line.

Storm: Response

Imril: ::To K’Wara:: So, how would you sculpt this race?

Storm/K’Wara: Response

Imril: And ::small laugh:: that cat?

The purple interloper was close to breaking free of its (mis)handlers. Drawn to the sight of the oncoming Munro. The poor ensigns were acting as rodeo clowns, seeking to prize its attention back with flailing arms, silly dances, and pratfalls.

Storm/K’Wara: Response
