((Counselor’s Office - Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Vhysa’lia: Solas, do you want to discuss some exercises that you could explore in your down-time to help with what you’re feeling? ::pause:: If not, we can continue to talk about your experience during Frontier Day, or anything else you want to talk about.
Eager for something to do to distance himself and recover from the incident, Solas agreed.
Kel: Please Counselor, tell me about these exercises. I would like to learn more.
Vhysa’lia: Of course! I’d like you to take some time each day between now and when we meet next to write down what you dream about each night. It doesn’t need to be long, just a few words or sentences.
Solas raised his eyebrow, and Vhysa’lia raised one in response. Not wanting to be rude, Solas asked for clarification.
Kel: Counselor, I’m not sure I understand how that will help. I know that therapuetic excercises are always a little opaque but, well I guess I would like to know the logic behind it at least.
Vhysa’lia: Certainly. There’s two main reasons I want you to do this, related to both of the concerns you’ve expressed to me today. One, ::holding up a single finger:: you’re still clearly impacted by the trauma of what you experienced as you were assimilated. Two, ::holding up another:: you’re missing time, and are uncertain if the memories may come back.
Solas nodded, scratching his head.
Kel: Well….i suppose that’s true but I’m not sure I want the memories of what I did while assimilated to come back.
Vhysa’lia: Yes, exactly. I want to learn more about how your subconscious is dealing with this. There might be more there than you’re aware of, hidden below the surface. That can pop up in dreams, hence the journal.
Solas considered this. It was true, yes. He knew that, of course, dreams could hold greater meaning. However, he suspected that this would bear more relevance and importance than his recurring dream of having somehow missed an entire semester.
Kel: Well that certainly makes sense and now that you’ve explained it me, I certainly
She pulled up a new PADD from her desk, typing on the screen for a moment, and then slid it across over to Solas.
Vhysa’lia: Here you go. ::smile:: I’ve loaded a few articles on this PADD about dreams, in case you’re curious about it.
He took the PADD and scrolled down through the articles. They spread the gambit from News to Scientific Articles.
Kel: I think I can manage to read some of these in addition to keeping that dream journal you mentioned. I’ll try to record them in a PADD, rather than ship log.
With that, they stood up, and she nodded a thanks to Solas.
Vhysa’lia: Thank you for meeting with me, I hope that this was helpful? I’ll see you again soon, and we can go through what you’ve written down. Let me know if you’re interested in having more frequent sessions.
Kel: Of course Counselor. I’ll be sure to keep my log for you.
With that, she gave him a polite wave and saw him out of her office. When he mad it back to his quarters, he pulled out a PADD and thrummed it between his thumb and forefinger. Wondering what his first dream would be. Would it be pleasant? Or would it provide the Counselor ample material to make observations on a PADD of her own. He set the PADD down and shook his head.
It wasn’t time for dreams just yet.

((OOC: Hey everyone. Sorry this is coming out a bit late despite saying I’d only be out Friday-Sunday. It turns out that after moving OUT of my grandparents, I failed to account for having to move them back in which, took a bit. I don’t have my desktop set up yet and am writing this on my phone. Sorry everyone DX))
