The ensign had offered to take her on a tour and Ava had gladly accepted. It was a chance to get to know the security department a little better, and the young officer herself.
Munro: I had several weeks on a transport ship. I think I may have read the crew files several times just for something to do. It was either that or get blind drunk.
Cole: Probably a more responsible use of time, pesky responsibilities.
Ava laughed at Cole’s joke. It was true, those responsibilities did get in the way of a good time. She thought of the unusual Cygnian she had met at Starbase 118 whilst she was passing through - that would have been a fun night out if not for the curse of responsibility.
Cole: As for me, while my resume is fairly short, I know that I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I’ll make sure the people under my watch get through the day regardless of the cost.
Munro: :: nods :: That’s all we can expect of you, and each other. We got to look out for each other.
As they continued the tour, they turned out of the training facilities.

They stopped by the Master-At-Arms Office, across from the Armory. Ava stood patiently as the ensign explained what she was seeing. Suzie was not interested in the tour and had wandered further along, investigating smells and other things that only she and other animals would find much more intriguing.
Cole: Over here we have the Master-At-Arms office, which is just off the exosuit lockers. Across from that is the Armory and Evidence lockup.
Ava carefully examined each area, she nodded her approval.
Munro: Excellent.
Turning down the hall they passed through two sets of heavily secure doors. There was no urgency to the movements, as they kept pace casual. Ava paid attention to the ensign and kept her eye on Suzie to make sure she didn’t wander too far.
They stopped at a station, that led to three doors. She clocked the entrance to the brig so experience told her that these would be the interrogation rooms, for questioning. She had always hated the word interrogation. It was a reminder that sometimes even Starfleet had to do unpleasant things.
A human male, she recognised from his personnel file but couldn’t quite place the name. It annoyed her as she smiled politely at him, desperate to retireve his name for her greeting. Ava had mastered the fine art of names to faces many years ago, she felt it was one of the key qualities of an operations officer. To serve the ship and her crew you had to know them.
Thankfully Cole bought her some time.
Cole: ::to Braga:: Giving Commander Munro a tour.
The as yet unnamed man nodded towards both of them as Ava tried, to no avail, to remember his name. Brahms? Ensign Brahms didn’t really feel right for him. It was a one name kind of deal - she knew that much.
Cole: Over here we have the Brig, ::gesturing to the empty cells:: and behind Ensign Braga are the entrances towards the interrogation rooms.
Braga! Ava found she smiled widely, and probably a little too keen, at the ensign. Palpable relief on her face.
Munro: :: satisfied greeting :: Ensign Braga. I remember that name, quite unusual for a human.
Rather smugly she smiled. It would not last long.
Braga: :: nods :: I get that a lot, sir. Where I’m from everyone has one name. Two names are unusual to me.
Ava nodded politely, her cheeks flushed red in embarrassment.
Cole: Response
Munro: Of course, I’d like to learn more about where you're from some day, Ensign Braga :: to Cole :: Shall we continue?
She quickly followed Cole into the brig, several empty ‘cells’ met them, undoubtedly any passengers from the encounter with the Orion had been disembarked on DS224.
Cole: Response
She listened carefully at the brief from the ensign, as Suzie stood in front of her and looked up at the young woman as if she too was being educated - on te hunt for more treats was more likely. Ava was beginning to feel the rumblings of hunger herself.
Munro: Thank you for the tour, ensign. You know another place that I haven’t been able to visit yet?
Cole: Response
Munro: The Elysium. And I could use some lunch, and some company?
