(( Armory - Deck 3 - USS Karnack))

MacKenzie and her team made their way out into the corridor, and the commanding officer resisted the urge to examine the dark thing. As much as she would have preferred the opportunity to engage in some scientific discovery, she also didn't want to take the time to figure out whether the creature was dead or merely incapacitated.

MacKenzie: Ensign, did those EPS conduits rupture as planned?

Breys: Response

MacKenzie: Good, let's hope that draws some attention. Sickbay should be nearby, and just one deck up, I think... ::stopping long enough to toss her tricorder to Munro:: Which way?

The first officer scanned the deck and made a quick assessment. It was an easy task given that there were relatively few areas on the ship that had power at the moment.

Munro: Straight ahead. Sickbays on this deck, Captain.

Breys: Response

Even better news. All they'd need to do was follow the course of the hallway and look for the door marked "Sickbay." Again thankful for the compact nature of the ship, it wouldn't be a long venture.

Bergmen: Do you not hear it too? It’s too silent, everything. ::turns to the team:: The door?

Munro: I think the ensigns plan worked. Don't ask me how I know …

MacKenzie raised an eyebrow, wondering if she could hear what Bergmen was talking about. It was quiet, that much was certain, but she wasn't sure if that was indicative of something that might signify a particular danger.

Breys: Response
The group reached Sickbay, but the doors didn't budge. Something seemed to elicit a response of increased anxiety and skittishness from Bergmen, but after a moment to compose himself, he turned to Munro. Bergmen: Did you... The young officer didn't finish his thought, he only smiled and moved on, Bergmen: Just bypass the matrix and turn the polarity; it resets the lock.

MacKenzie keyed in the commands while Munro checked in with the junior officer, obviously concerned about his well-being.

Munro: You okay Bergmen?

Breys/Bergmen: Response

Munro: I think it's the volume of them, it's enhancing the effects. Stay strong. Focus, lieutenant .

Just then they felt the thrum running beneath them through the deck. The lights of the corridor grew brighter, flashed several times and held steady. The Sickbay door opened. The forcefield had been extended around the decks. MacKenzie smiled and nodded to no one in particular.

MacKenzie: A good sign.

The forcefield had been extended around the decks. Ava smiled and couldn't resist a laugh.

Breys/Bergmen: Response

((Sickbay - Deck 3 - USS Karnack))

Munro: Now all we need to do is use the access in the quarantine suite to connect the rest of the necessary systems to the computer core.

MacKenzie: It's this way.

Breys/Bergmen/Munro: Response

MacKenzie led the group out of main sickbay through the CMO's office and into the small area containing the brightly illuminated quarantine suite. The commanding officer approached one of the consoles and started keying in several commands.

MacKenzie: I'm having trouble shunting power to the bridge.

She stepped aside to let the others take a look at the console.

Breys/Bergmen/Munro: Response

MacKenzie: Trying to power up the systems on the bridge are going to require a lot of energy, likely more than we'll be able to route... I don't love the idea, but what if we were to cut power to the forcefields in this area and combine it with the power here in the quarantine suite?

Breys/Bergmen/Munro: Response
