((Kerrit Dromos - City One - Rylor))

Ava had maybe had the easiest victory in her entire running career. She hadn't intended to log this run to her official track record BUT she was going to do that. She saw Tamio up in the crowd and as a department head, they could act as official witness to validate the log.

As much as she didn't push too hard, she did go for a finish - mostly for the crowd. She grabbed a towel and water that a crewman handed to her with a thanks and waited for Bancroft. For his credit he was determined to make a good finish.

The poor guy just couldn't catch a break.

Bancroft: ::between breaths:: Well.

Roy inhaled several breaths as Tamio sidled up beside her, all smiles and joviality. She noticed Lieutenant Storm had joined them too.

Bancroft: I do hope you appreciate how irritatingly competent that performance was.

Another deep breath. Was he going blue?

Bancroft: ::faintly, with dry resignation:: Thorough work, Commander.

Storm: Yes, Good job, Commander.  ::Turning to Roy:: What did you do to the fates today?

Ava crossed her arms and shook her head. She didn't know about fates but she knew about preparedness and delivering. She also knew that Roy would beat himself up about this, more than was required.

Munro: The fates had nothing to do with it. Roy :: smiles :: Get yourself better shoes. All things considered, you had a good time. Tamio can you log it on my official Starfleet track record? As a practice run of course. We don't need this on either of our competition records. Next shore leave it's for real.

Tamio saluted Ava humorously.

K’Wara: A decisive victory, Ava. Congratulations. ::looks to Roy:: And a very strong showing from you, Roy. Great job.

Any: Response?

Bancroft: ::genuine smile:: Enjoy this, Commander. ::arching an eyebrow:: But do remember… sequels have a way of being far less kind to the original leads.

Munro: Sorry, was that a challenge. I couldn't quite make it out between those struggling breaths?

Ava laughed and clapped an arm on Roy's back.

Munro: It's on. 5 am tomorrow, training. Clearly we still have some work to do.

Any: Response

The crew closed in on them, smiling faces congratulated her and lightly ribbed but mostly offered commiserations and encouragement to Roy.

K’Wara: And next time, I’ll definitely be betting.

End scene for Ava.
