((CMO’s Office - Primary Sickbay, Deck 7, USS Artemis-A))
Genkos had given Gila a cup of a Ferengi spiced tea, and sipped his own one. It was tasty, if a little grainier than he might prefer from a tea. Perhaps the replicator was playing up, or maybe it was just how the Ferengi liked their tea. Either way, the conversation about Gila’s new roommate, her own nephew, was clearly a little fraught.
Adea: ::chuckling:: Well if you need to retreat somewhere, you’re more than welcome to hide out here. How is it going, having him around?
Gila fell silent as she considered the question. She was clearly remembering something about the boy, and Genkos didn’t want to interrupt.
Sadar: ... Suddenly going from being alone to being a household with a teenager is... Quite the adjustment. But I’m pleased that he has the opportunity to see more of the universe while he’s still young.
Genkos inclined his head, acknowledging the point. It was quite an interesting way of looking at it - that the boy was getting something not always granted to everyone. He, himself, had dreamed of being a pilot, or flying ships around the stars, when he was a boy, before the transporter accident that took his leg and changed the trajectory of his life all along.
Adea: He’s a lucky Mizarian.
Sadar: It’s not an opportunity that is easily obtainable for my people... ::considers:: Even if the circumstances are as they are.
Genkos gave Gila a curious look for a moment, an arched eyebrow raising above one eye, but decided to leave that well enough alone. He knew that Gila was an intensely private person, and he had been working on her in these meetings, trying to let her get comfortable with the idea that the chains of command only bound them so far.
Adea: Indeed. Well if you need any help, you only have to ask. I’ve never been much of a parent, and the four alone know that I let Toto walk over me, but… I’m here if you do.
Sadar: Response
Adea: Perhaps we should introduce your nephew to Toto, it might make both our lives easier.

"You know, I'm really easy to get along with most of the time, but I don't like bullies and I don't like threats, and I don't like you, Culluh. You can try and stop us from getting to the truth but I promise you that if you do I will respond with all the 'unique technologies' at my command." - Kathryn Janeway
