(( Sickbay – Deck 7, USS Artemis-A ))
With Doctor Adea’s exam
complete, Captain MacKenzie was left with the newest ensign to come aboard. He’d
been upfront with the reason behind his Sickbay visit, and so far, the
information he’d provided about his background seemed genuine enough. There
wasn’t much left that she felt she needed to interrogate him about, so
it was really in both their interests for her to ship him off to duty and him
to be on with it.
MacKenzie: So, Ensign… I imagine you’re up to speed with the Artemis systems
and its latest mission logs?
Tho’Bi: :: Nods :: Yes,
Captain.
MacKenzie: Very good, I’m glad to
hear that. I assume that since you just beamed up, you haven’t had a chance to
meet any of the others in your department yet?
Tho’Bi: No, Captain. Not yet.
She
nodded.
MacKenzie: I would recommend starting with Ensign Imril. He’s also
relatively new to the ship.
Tho’Bi: :: nodded :: Ensign Imril. Yes,
Captain.
Not a very wordy chap, was
he? Probably for the best?
MacKenzie: Very good. Do you have
any questions for me before I leave you to it?
Tho’Bi: Where do I… ermm. Where’s my …rack? Bunk …Place.
Sleep… Thing. :: points at Padd :: Is it on… :: nods more to himself :: It’s on
the Padd, right? Captain, Sir.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she stared at him. Was the universal translator
malfunctioning? Was he having a stroke? Was she having a stroke? Certainly
of all the things he could be possibly concerned about and need to discuss with
the captain, his room assignment was not one of them. Surely he was aware
of where he might be able to find that information, and that the business of distributing
bunks did not fall on her desk.
She now spoke in a slower, much more metered response.
MacKenzie: I’m sure everything you need will have been provided in the
packet you have there.
Tho’Bi: Response
MacKenzie: If not, the computer or one of our ops officers should be
able to provide you with the info you need.
Tho’Bi: Response
MacKenzie smiled once again and nodded slightly.
MacKenzie: My office is always open if you need anything. Welcome
aboard, Ensign.
Tho’Bi: Response
MacKenzie turned and made her way to the door. As she passed through them and
into the corridor, she made a mental note to send a message to Engineering and
have them run a level 3 diagnostic on the universal translator.
Tag, and End Scene for
MacKenzie!
