Wilde: Sure. Let's all have a big laugh.

The Chief Petty Officer from Science seemed a bit light hearted for his taste, and the Engineering Commander was much too serious. Neither seemed to have the disposition, at least on first impression, to do his job. One needed both cold logic, and social grace to be a field operative. It was only then that he remembered that he was indeed no longer one of those.

As for himself, he'd not been amused by the intruder's antics, but had merely been making an observation on their state of mind.

Jones: Just...HOW? How could they have done this?

Darrell shrugged, noncommittally.

Manx: I'm more curious how a Chalnoth child got aboard.

Ra: Indeed.

Jones: Okay, then. Options. Where could they have come from if they didn't arrive with Messoq?

Manx: If it's from the Saracen, it won't be much of an issue. But if it's from one of the enemy ships, that might complicate them.

Wilde: As if today wasn't complicated enough. We need to track them down and undo all the damage they're causing.

Manx: Returning it would certainly be a gesture of goodwill.

His more Machaevillain side noted that it could be a good bargaining chip, but that wasn't very Starfleet was it? Keeping up appearances was tiring, and he found himself once again pining for the complicated simplicity of field work.

Ra: I believe it would, though I doubt it is from one of the other vessels. We still seem to be invisible to them.

Frell: Them.

Manx: That's what she just said.

She stepped his way a bit, crossing her arms.

Frell: You said "it". It's "them". There are two of them. A boy and a girl. I think...

Manx: I see.

The redheaded engineer spoke up with gusto.

Wilde: I'll start in engineering and try and track the source of the malfunctions. Obviously they're in the computer core somewhere.

Ra: You have a plan then?

Commander Jones stepped up now. Raising his hand slightly in a placating, but respectful gesture.

Jones: Now, hang on there. We need to get a handle on what's happening first. I can't have you storming down into the Engine Room only to get caught there. I might still need you up here, now.

Frell: Systems also still be operational and responding for now. We may could even track them from here. Coordinating with Security, of course.

He slid into the Intel station and began establishing a tracking link.

Manx: Should be easy enough.

Wilde: Well do we have any security personnel left on board? We can keep them in the brig.

This caught his attention, and like everyone else, they turned towards Commander Wilde. It was practically Cardassian of her, almost admirable, at least as far as practicality. Morally, it was questionable even by his standards. Of course, he'd much rather be in one of their own brigs than the former option.

Wilde: Ok, so maybe I'm not the best at dealing with kids. Anyone else have any suggestions?

Jones: Start internal scans and Level 3 diagnostics. If we can lock down what they are affecting and where, we may be able to see where they are headed next.

Frell: Aye, Hen-...sir.

Apperantly ignoring the overly familar response, the male Commander then turned to him.

Jones: Round up a few people and start checking bulkheads and access ducts. Stun conditions ONLY. We don't know if they are hostile and until we know for sure, we aren't taking any chances. These are kids. I will not have them harmed on my watch, clear?

Manx: Aye, sir.

Darrell, aged as he was, had just been off of field duty less than a year. He thought he could handle a routine security detail without issue. Thus, he started for the turbolift. The others continuing to talk as he did so,

Ra: What if the children don't exist?

Wilde: RESPONSE

Jones: That seems...a little philosophical, Master Chief.

Ra: It's not melting. And it certainly isn't cold enough in here to keep it frozen. So is it snow? Or is it made to look like it? Feel like it? What if there are no children?

Nothing a tricorder could not figure out. He pushed the call button, and waited for the turbolift.

Wilde: RESPONSE

Jones: AND we just saw them! They trashed The Captain's office!

Frell: Could they be projections? ::she said, not turning around.:: Do the Chalnoth have holo capabilities?

This was an easy one. The answer was who knows.

Manx: Our knowledge of Chalnoth society is sorely lacking. They've never been a real threat except in isolated incidents, and diplomatic contact has been sparse.

And now the Arrow was changing all of that.

Ra: I just have a gut feeling that if we chase children, we will miss the real problem. And its solution.

Wilde: RESPONSE

Jones: Oh my god, why did I ever take that Command exam? I belong in a museum.

Frell: Cheer up, Henry. We will get through this yet.

They were very familiar. None of his business, but one never knew when some outside force might change that.

Manx: We've been through worse.

Frell: Oh! Oh! Yes, we have them! They are...oh, nertz. They seem to be heading toward the section of the ship Chief Serinus had requisitioned for our new lounge.

Wilde/Ra: Response

The turbolift door swooshed open, not a moment too soon.

Manx: On my way.

Frell: What's worse...I think he's already started to stock it.

Jones: Wonderful...

One could safely assume it was all synthahol knowing what he knew about Lt. Commander Serinus, but assuming was never something to be done 100 percent safely.

Wilde/Ra:Response

Stepping in, he quickly tapped his combadge as the doors closed behind him.
