A bit weary, but eager to help and make sense of things, she looked around, observing.

R'Ariel: Anything remarkable I should know about?

The on duty nurse shook her head, before vocalizing in her calm almost-whisper like 'no-ma'am'.

R'Ariel: Ler's change that shall we?

A simple exchange of smiles, and she went into the CMO office to begin drawing up the roster of those that would be impacted psionically.  It was a small list, though perhaps a bit larger than one might expect on a vessel the size of the Arrow.  Using the computer she sent out a simple summons reminder to all those that registered on Starfleet's telepathic/empathic scale.

OOC: An open invite her to anyone wishing to sim their T/E 1+ test here.

(( Sometime Later - CMO Office ))

Sitting cross legged, perched on top of her desk, adorned in a simple short white dress with blue piping in her usual bodycon style, she poured over the notes on her computer.  The chair-desk height issue still hadn't been resolved, but this solution seemed to work well enough.  Out of all the findings she was perhaps most surprised to find her own symptoms to be surprisingly minimal.  Her conclusion had something to do with spending all that time with Chloe.  The telepathic amplification, while exhausting, had somehow improved her natural ability to shield herself telepathically and empathically.  Sure, there were moments when something slipped through, when the psionic pressure spiked, but in general, she was very pleasantly surprised.

oO So quick to celebrate are we? Oo

It was as if on que, that one of those spikes occurred, and for a moment a kind of headache-like twinge, took her by surprise, and then it was gone.  She shook her head in annoyed amusement, as she reminded herself not to relax her guard so much.

R'Ariel: Very good.

She commented on the progress of one of the crewman, lying peacefully on one of the biobeds, as she resumed her rounds in sickbay, when a familiar presence and a tall shadow approached.  The shadow indicating someone around six feet tall, the presence indicating something closer to a giant.

R'Ariel: Commander.  What brings you to sickbay, I wasn't aware you had a T/E test to complete?

Rodan: Oh, it was very quiet on the bridge. Nothing exciting to report beyond the extreme location we're in. Thought I'd pop down and see how things are.

R'Ariel: Just sent the last of the reports to your computer.  Was there something I can help you with?

She didn't like to pry, but it was rare that any of the command staff volunteered to be in and around sickbay.  In her experience, it was more likely that someone would willingly volunteer to drop by the counseling suite, because they oh so casually wished to discuss something that wasn't really that casual, and weighed heavy on their mind.  To her inquiry, Maz smiled in an almost shrugging manner.

Rodan: Well, I was hoping you'd put me to work. As odd as it might sound. At least, we can work on something together.

She smiled.  Their last medical-counselor adventure together had left a lasting impression on her.  The joined Trill characteristics of his somewhat obscured past lives had maintained a fascination with her that helf her attention, whenever he was present.

R'Ariel: Based on our last venture, who knows what we might accomplish!  Perhaps solve the entire puzzle and return us home?

Rodan: We had an influx of visitors to the Arrow during the run up to the test drive of the Proteus engine. SCOE teams, crew transfers. I was hoping we could go over their recent onboarding medical results, see if we can find something out of the ordinary with them. A clue as to who the saboteur might be? ::He sighed.:: Maybe it's nothing. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws, but I need something to do beyond sitting in Shayne's chair.

She nodded, appreciatively.  He was handling the BIG-CHAIR most admirably.  Along with some of her own empathic sensitivities, this psionic bombardment had found her burying a lot of her own emotions, concerns, and fears.  Every time she had found herself thinking about dear Shayne and Marissa, she found her ability to hold up against the psionic strain weaken, greatly.  She had resolved herself to try to push those concerns and fears down, lest she have to pull herself from the active duty list.  Now before her was the man whom the Captain had put his greatest trust, the First Officer.  He was stepping up admirably, and, as the Counselor she was, she knew he deserved and most likely needed reminding of how impressive his performance was.

R'Ariel: I wish I could offer my services as a kind of "saboteur radar", and empathically review each crewmember and officer, but the psionic bombardment here would make such a taxing undertaking impractical and dangerous.

Rodan: Response?

R'Ariel: I like the idea of reviewing the medical logs for something specific, but what would we search for?

Rodan: Response

R'Ariel: I might be, empathically-shields-up, right now, but I think you should know that I can sense enough to know that while the Captain's absence is troubling the crew, their faith and belief in you is most impressive.  You have their trust and respect, a sentiment and fact I share very strongly.

She offered a comforting-affirming styled smile, and gave the officer a knowing look, that invited him to take the truest of assurances and allow him to ask for more, if he was so inclined.

Rodan: Response
