Ensign Zenno - Am I right? Am I wrong?

Zenno felt very detached from himself at the moment. Given his disastrous first meetings with the Captain and his new Chief, he expected to be assigned to cataloging security sensor logs or inspecting cargo for contraband. But he found himself in another part of the security world: in the briefing room with the Captain and Senior officers. He wondered if perhaps he was invited as a jest, an amusement for the others. If that was so, How do I work this? was his foremost thought as he listened to the Captain lay out the very precarious situation they were in. Should I listen and take it in? Shouldn’t the Commander be the one to offer opinions? It would be inappropriate for me to speak with the Commander here.
Shayne: As… Commander MacKenna, Commander Serinus, Ensign Zenno, Mr. Dewitt, and Lieutenant Ohnari- you’re all with me for the conference. Commander, as soon as we depart, take the ship to Naz and do as your judgment dictates. oO He wants me… to go with him? How did that happen? Oo Am I being brought along as the proverbial “red shirt?” How did I get here? Did I offend too much at our first meeting? Oo
Niac: Aye sir. Once we get to Naz we're to provide a deterrent force to remind the Sheliak and Ferengi vessels already in the area not to do anything stupid and while we're there, I'd like our science team to take a look at the planet itself. Maybe we'll discover something that can have bearing on Ambassador Buford's...summit. We'll figure out the specifics en-route, we should have a few hours of travel time.
Zenno: (Sidebar to Serinus) Sir, I can work up profiles on all of the Deep Space 33 Security Personnel and provide a threat assessment based on Sheliak and Ferengi psychographic analyses, if that would be helpful?
Serinus: Response?
Zenno: Aye sir. I will do that. You’ll have it within 2 hours.
Shayne: Alright, everyone heading for the station, we disembark at the top of the hour. Dismissed.
The Bolian rose from his chair and tried to contain his nervousness. His first real mission! “Be in the blue and silent water,” he thought. The old folk wisdom from home always calmed him somewhat. But he realized he had not performed the requisite intelligence for this mission. He had not met some of his new shipmates. It would be unwise to embark upon such an endeavor without making some sort of connection.
Zenno: Lieutenant Dewitt. I had not had the opportunity to meet you yet. I am only just arrived. Zenno, new Security Officer. I am pleased to meet you . ::Bolian bows in greeting::
Dewitt: Response?
Zenno: I was present at the ceremony on Deep Space 33. Congratulations on the Starfleet Medal of Valor and the elevation to Chief. I don’t know of what use I can be as a Security Officer to the Engineer, but if there is anything I can ever do, I am ready to assist.
Dewitt: Response?
Zenno: Understood. We are on a compressed timeline. I will see you at the disembarkation muster.
