(( Genti II - Grand Central Establishment, Federal District.  Brynja Bairiri Hall - Central Courtyard ))
(( OOC: Here by popular request - we’re going to actually hold a Bairiri on Genti II!  Feel free to have your character show up, inspect the Genti food, art, and culture, share a favorite work of art (or ten) of yours (or your character's) from across the Federation, perform on the stage, or all of the above!  Please, all feel free to engage in a fun culture and art exchange however feels right to you. ))

(( Timeline wise, this occurs a touch over a week or so after we swap back, but maybe a week or so before proper shore leave begins on DS 3.  Strictly speaking, all Bairiri sims will be backsims. ))

The second and final (and most important) day of the Bairiri, and deep blue skies heralded a glorious day of weather.  The occasional purple-and-green iridescent cloud lazily floated high in the sky, carefully avoided by the Gentii shuttlecraft busying themselves with ferrying goods to-and-fro in the bustling metropolis the Gentii called "Grand Central Establishment."  In a city populated by nearly ten million, not counting the suburban sprawl, it was near miraculous Maria's operations department was allowed to practically move into the Brynja Bairiri hall for the week leading up to the two-day event.

She had woken up shortly after the wild visions shared with Commander Collins, then pretty much set straight to work.  Back in her own body, and showing no real physical problems other than a couple easily-fixed bumps and bruises, she was quickly dismissed from sickbay.  There were other, more urgent, cases to attend to: most notably Quentin himself.  She hadn't brought herself to visit him yet, though she'd heard he was up and around now after nearly a week.  It was just as well she had a herculean task obtaining the materials and manpower she needed to create this exhibition, festival, and party all wrapped into one.  Less time to fixate on everything that had happened.  She hadn't really stopped for more than a minute, and she'd ridden the whole operations department hard, even borrowing some of the security staff to help muscle things into place.  She'd been a woman on a mission all week, and with the XO indisposed and much of the crew mentally regrouping, no one seemed to have the heart to tell her no to any but the craziest of requests and orders she gave out.

Now that they were finally fully set up, and on the second day, Maria finally found herself taking in the sights around her.  The courtyard itself was as magnificent as it was intimidating.  Partially shaded by towering, arcing and twisting metal spire sculptures, made of polished steel inlaid with delicate webs of gold on their surface, the garden was in perfect order.  The intelligent strength and trembling complexity seemed to represent everything Maria knew about the Gentii so far.  Gentii flowers seemed to all be in season with lush reds, pinks, and yellows everywhere.  Many of the petals resembled Earth orchids, but with silvery tendrils that were apparently as poisonous as they were beautiful.  A water feature wound through the courtyard, the evaporation cooling off the entire enclosed open-air space.  There was a faint fragrance, almost like that of cedar but slightly muskier.  It must have come from the towering, dark green tree on the far side.

With the start of festivities for the day, it was no surprise the solitude was short-lived.  Maria smiled at the crewmate beaming down.

Alvarez: Welcome to the Brynja Bairiri Hall!  Quite a spectacular location, don't you think?

Any: Response

Alvarez: Well, our display is to the east.  It's actually pretty extensive - we managed to get some original artwork on short order delivered by autonomous shuttle.  The crew also contributed a lot - if you have something you'd still like to put up, you're absolutely welcome to, but now would be the time.  The Gentii displays are in the west and north wings.  I haven't managed to look too closely yet, so maybe you'd care to join me for a stroll?

Any: Response

Alvarez: The "food court," for lack of a better term, is to the south along with the main performance stage.  I did manage to try some food - it's really something.  There's something I can only describe as a barbequed lettuce wrap... That's not even really it.  It's crispy and juicy... tangy and spicy... just delicious.  I'd be down to sample more of that too.  Of course, we have several replicators set up too, as well as a couple of dishes made with aeroponics groceries.

Any: Response

Alvarez: Performances will be a little later today.  We're expecting thousands, maybe tens of thousands, of Gentii citizens to stop in and look for at least a bit, so no pressure if you don't want to go up there.  We'll do something holographic if we need to supplement.  Heck, I'm not sure if I want to go up there after everything.

Any: Response
