((Deep Space 33, Arboretum))
The Chief Engineer had made some last-minute arrangements to secure the Arrow's systems for the cleaning crew. Nolen had been giving him a hard time to make all the preparations in the time frame that had been allotted before the cleaning crew arrived. It was a challenging task, as always, but they managed it. The announcement of the ship's cleaning had been at the last minute, and Connor and his crew had done their best to prepare the ship.

Ayemet had already gone ahead as Connor had arrived late to their temporary quarters onboard DS33. He had taken a quick shower and was still assembling his uniform collar as he entered the Arboretum, a space that had become a comforting and familiar sight. Connor's head briefly went through all the award ceremonies he had been through.

Some had been unique, like the one on the Excalibur's exterior hull. But this felt like home. Connor knew from experience that this feeling might change in an instant, but he enjoyed having found a home on the Arrow and a family with its crew. It was moments like these where they all came together that made that clear to him again and again. He simply was not getting tired of happiness.

As he walked towards the bar, Connor's eyes picked up the blueish color of their head of security at the bar. With a few steps, the Chief Engineer stopped next to him and nodded towards the barkeep.

Dewitt: One Bajoran Pale Ale, please.

Zenno: Response

Connor chuckled and took the Ale from the bartender.

Dewitt: Well, it's basically 99% water, so I expect you to approve. ::pause:: And I think I earned it after those last-minute notifications with the cleaning crew.

Zenno: Response

Dewitt: Who knows what you guys brought from that moon colony. Any questionable places you visited while you were down there? A kitchen, a hydroponics bay?

Zenno: Response

Connor envied Zenno for having been able to take part in that mission's away teams. He didn't bother that his role was to stay onboard from time to time, but it was simply more exciting to be off the ship. That was a thought he could comfortably make from the security of the award's ceremony - next time he was standing on a Sheliak vessel, he would see things differently.

Dewitt: Speaking of the last mission, I see that you let Lacy off the hook.

Connor nodded towards the young woman on the other side of the room. There were no security guards accompanying her - at least no visible ones.

Dewitt: She did well during the last mission. ::pause:: I just wanted you to know that I overruled the perimeters you have set with reason. I think she's up to it - or maybe we are.

Zenno: Response
