((USS Arrow - Deck 6; Starboard Bow))

Hitchcock: We'll follow your lead, sir.

Roxy placed her head in her hands and shook her head slightly. This couldn't be the only security contingent left on the ship in a time like this!?

Wilde: Why me? What did I ever do to be stranded on this ship like a rat on a lifeboat? I hate this ship! I hate this sector! I hate this planet... and I hate YOU!

She pushed the rifle back into Hitchcock's hands and took a huff of a breath. Beside her, the older Intel officer spoke calmly. She glanced at him.

Manx: Ma'am.

Wilde: Now. I'm going in, and conducting some scans. Cover me until I get the data and an accurate assessment of what's going on. Think you can manage that, boys?

Manx: ::Speaking only for himself:: Yes ma'am.

He looked toward the two crewmen.

Manx: You hear the Commander? If you fire before it is necessary, Commander Serinus will get two of the most scathing mission reports in the history of Starfleet. Those things are on stun?

Roxy smirked as the two inept crewmen nodded, yet Manx leant over slightly to double check.

Manx: Good, now relax a little. ::Break:: Not too much.

Roxy checked her tricorder and looked at the others. It was time.

Manx: On your Mark, ma'am.

Manx unholstered his own phaser and checked the setting. She felt a little confident knowing that he was at least more competent than the other security members here.

Anyone: Response

Wilde: Ok. ::She nodded.:: I'm going in...

The doors parted and she stepped into the new bar that had been designed as an officers club. Although she was impressed at the design and construction of the bar - from its wooden panelling and colour scheme - she had to keep her wits about her.

The lights were dim, but she sensed Hitchcock and Scully fan out into the corners of the room. At least they managed to do that right, she thought. Manx was close by, his phaser drawn and ready. Slowly and deliberately she waved her tricorder around in key areas in front of her, only the blinking and beeping scanner in her hand making any noise.

Manx: Response

Wilde: ::Quietly.:: I've got something. Over here...

She pointed to the bar area.

Manx: Response

Roxy tapped a few commands into the tricorder and crept slowly to the bar mouth. If a Chalnoth child was hiding, they'd soon find them. As she made her way behind the bar, it was clear no one was there. The replicator was glowing eerily and making strange, static sounds, though. She approached and ran the scanner over it and checked the results.

Wilde: Huh.

Manx: Response

Wilde: The coding is all wrong...

Without warning, she placed the tricorder on the bar and rolled up her sleeves a little. With a sharp tug, she priced the casing from the replicator mounted in the bar and retrieved the tricorder, scanning the inside circuitry with care.

Manx: Response

Wilde: Well, this isn't right. Not right at all...

Manx: Response

Wilde: It's as if something is re-writing the code from an outside source. Can Chalnoth technology do that? It's like a data-assimilation, they're re-writing our programs to adapt to theirs!

Manx: Response

Wilde: A replicator? Nothing so nefarious, I think. Perhaps they meant to get the communications array, something they can use to talk and communicate. Like...

Manx: Response

Wilde: The holodeck...

Manx: Response
