Zenno: We did not have to rely on my devices for long however. We soon found ourselves in a fight with the freighter's crew. We were able to defeat a party of three. The Commander and I had some weapons but Lt T'Lyra went hand-to-hand. We made short work of them and took their weapons and made for the bridge.

After some of his recent communications with T'Lyra, Zenno realized that the agressive tactics she had were certainly a hallmark of Nardello's training. Quick and decisive on the attack and "defense was for donkeys." He had had to have the computer analyze that one to make out its meaning. But once he realized she had been to same school and had the same chief, a lot of things had made more sense. The Commander didn't like her approach, but Zenno suspected that victory was a salve for any reservations he might have had.

Niac:  I said it before but....::Karrod stopped as his commbadge chirped.  He held up a hand and stepped aside.:: =/\= Niac here.  Go ahead. =/\=

The XO went to answer his call privately and Zenno pondered what the Senior Staff must be like. The demands on one's time were probably significant.

Serinus: We made our way to the bridge, and were getting the blast doors open when I heard someone coming. I pulled away, and quickly met them. He quickly surrendered and claimed to be a simple mechanic, I called over T'Lyra and she gave him the Vulcan nerve pinch.

Zenno: Very handy, that.

Collins: Response?

The Commander seemed to be enjoying himself and Zenno was glad of it. While being new, he hadn't seen Serinus have too many lighter moments and it was nice to see that they did occur.

Serinus: Insightful as always, Quentin.

Collins/Any: Responses

Niac:  Sorry gentlemen, duty calls.  I look forward to seeing that rifle in a place of honor in the Annex...but I wouldn't be upset if someone...::he glanced towards Artinus and Zenno slowly:: took it by the phaser range for a little bit of...oh, I don't know...safety certifications first.  Can never be too safe with interesting weapons, don't you think Chief?

Artinus nodded slowly.

Serinus:  That seems like a reasonable precaution, sir. I'd have to ask the current custodian, of course. Enjoy your evening, sir.

Zenno: I will have the power cell properly charged and available in the armory.

The Bolian had just been in the armory prior to coming here. The Armory officer had issued him a phaser with less than a full charge. While it had not been an issue on this mission, he did not want that to ever happen again. Thinking about how Nardello would have handled the situation, he did the exact opposite and he had proceeded with kindness and grace. It turned out to be the best way to go.

Collins/Any: Response

The Commander was winding up to continue the story, but then he stopped himself before he began.

Serinus: You and T'Lyra went in first, why don't you tell that part, Ensign?

Zenno: It appeared that we had several operatives in the room and a Yridian whose main talent seemed to be crying. Using a grenade, we were able to eliminate one operative and through a tactical entry we were able to get control of the situation. It was fortuitous that T'Lyra and I had similar training so we were compatible in our approach. The rest of the story you know. I am still working on the analysis of the holo-projectors and scanners with our colleague and the Yridian is in holding at Deep Space 33. I have not seen any results of his interviews but I expect that we should hear something soon.

After speaking with his old friend Saava, he had changed his approach entirely with T'Lyra with salutary results. oO Perhaps a trip back to DS33 wouldn't be all that bad? Oo

Collins/Any: Response

Checking the chrono, Zenno realized that he was soon due to have a call with his sister. Her ship is usually under a communications blackout and he could only contact her at pre-determined times. They were due to compare experiences and also to plan a surprise for their Mother, as her special Ocean Day celebration was coming up.

Zenno: Please do excuse me. I am expecting a call from my sister. She is also in Starfleet. A scientist. But she's serving on a ship that has limited communication windows for mission security. If we miss this window, it will be weeks until another one is made available.

Any: Responses

Zenno: She dones't tell me anything. And I know better than to ask. But if we don't get to talk and plan an upcoming family event, it will have significant ramifications. oO Our Father would never let us live it down and Amaddo would go on and on about how he was the "only reliable one." This must be avoided at all costs. Oo Thank you. ::Acknowledges the group and exits::
