((Gymnasium -- U.S.S Arrow))

There was something to be said for change, and there was something to be
said for getting back into ones routine as they knew it. Chloe walked
down the corridor in her usual workout clothes, her golden retriever
keeping pace at her side.

Although she had been able to keep her runs going while she was back
home, there was something about the Arrow's gym she missed. Maybe it was
the flexibility the gym offered, being able to adjust the gravity to
change the intensity of her workout. Or maybe it was the fact that she
usually had the gym all to herself. She didn't have to worry about
crashing into anyone else, as she was prone to doing, or being taken out
by another runner who failed to notice her short frame ahead of them.
Maybe it was the opportunity the quiet afforded her to let her mind
wander, to think. She didn't know, but she was looking forward to it all
the same.

The doors to the gym parted with only the quietest hum... but what she
heard next was far from quiet. It seemed Chloe was not alone today.

Filled with a sense of curiosity as to who it was she might see (it used
to be Serinus, mainly) Chloe stepped forward and patted Mandy on the
head as the dog followed her in. She got a brief glimpse of the woman as
she ran past... was that the new helmswoman?

Chloe took note as the other woman noticed her, lifting a hand in a wave
as the one whom she now definitely recognized as Ensign Slipka seemed to
be wrapping up her run. She approached casually, glancing over her
shoulder to see Mandy curling up against the wall. In a few moments, the
dog was sound asleep. This made her smirk with amusement.

Waters: Good morning, Ensign. I see I am not the only one who
appreciates an active start to the day.

Slipka: Response

Waters: I recognize you from the duty roster. Lieutenant Commander Chloe
Waters. Mission specialist. ::extending a hand:: Your chair was mine,
previously.

The comment was a simple one, but it could be taken any number of ways
on its own. Had she still had her monotone implant, it might have seemed
rude. But here, with the crown inflecting her thoughts, the comment
carried a pleasant tone of something akin to familiarity. An
acknowledgement of what was, and what is. Chloe smiled just slightly,
attempting to convey a lack of any hard feelings. The chair was no
longer hers. It would take some getting used to, but she held no
resentment over it. Quite the contrary, although it was unexpected she
was interested to see what this new post had to offer.
