((OOC: This assumes we're docked outside of RAFT ONE. If we're in some
hangar, we could adapt to another spot onboard the station :) ))

((Starboard Bow, USS Arrow))
When Connor entered the newly built lounge, it was dark and empty. The
opening was not planned for a couple of days, and he was sure it posed
the best opportunity for what he was planning. He set down the big case
he had brought with him next to one of the big windows and took a moment
to muster the sky of stars.

A thin smile crossed his lips as he kneeled next to the case, put it
down on the floor, and opened it. It had taken him some time to assemble
it. It was impossible to replicate it in one piece due to its size. And
he wanted to avoid asking the Captain to employ the Foundry replicators.
Instead, he used the working stations in the foundry and one of the
engineering replicators to put it together.

His hands took out the three-legged base with a yank. And although he
knew he was alone, he began to speak.

Dewitt: Looking just like yours!

Another smile crossed his lips as he started to assemble the base. It
took him just a couple of moments to execute the well-known procedure of
setting it up. Once the three legs were stable, he put them near the window.

Dewitt: You know that you could give me a hand for once! You never did!
And I know that I am the engineer!

Finally, he again kneeled next to the trunk and took out the 4-inch
telescope. It was heavy, but he managed to position it right over the
base and slowly let it down until it snapped into position.

Dewitt: Not sure if we can see the Crab from here, I must admit.

Connor unfixed the joints that held the telescope angle in place to move
it around and took a PADD from the case containing the local star
charts. He scanned through them to finally find what he was looking for.

Dewitt: There it is... Let's see if we can get it into view.

He entered a couple of numbers into the PADD to convert galactic
coordinates into the Starboard bow's plane. Finally, the calculation
gave him two angles, and he started to work on the telescope.

Anyone: Response

Connor winced at the voice he did not expect and turned around to
discover the newcomer. His heart pounded as if he was caught. It took a
moment before he caught his breath.

Dewitt: ::wry smile:: Well... You startled me there...

Anyone: Response

Dewitt: Don't worry... I am just... ::pointing to the telescope:: I was
just trying to find some celestial objects to admire.
