((Bridge, Deck 1 -- U.S.S Arrow))

Here they were again.

The Arrow, and the Edge, at each other's throats. Although the situation
was slightly different in terms of setup and circumstance, it was in a
way very much the same. The Arrow was in trouble. Innocents were in
trouble. But the major problem was the Arrow couldn't hold out against
the Edge forever. They needed ideas, and Chloe had the beginning sparks
of one.

Waters: If I am not mistaken, the Saber class uses significantly larger
impulse vents in case there is the need for an emergency plasma
ejection. If we allow the Edge to draw close enough before abruptly
reversing course, spillage from the vent may interfere with their
systems for a short time.

Shayne only seemed to mull over Chloe's words for a moment before making
a call.

Shayne: Lieutenant Waters, vent the plasma, and make us look sickly.
Stay sharp- the moment the get in range, pull away, make sure they
overshoot us. Mr. Serinus, when we’re clear of the plasma, and they’re
immersed in it, fire a phaser directly into the mass.

Serinus: Aye Captain.

Waters: Aye, sir.

Chloe's mind remained almost singularly on the task at hand. Eject
plasma. Trick enemy into submerging itself in plasma. Then, let someone
else blow up plasma. Oh, and make the Arrow look like a wounded animal.
Again.

This last part was no easy task. And despite Chloe's flying hands it
was, in a way, the most difficult thing to ask of a pilot."Make your
ship look credibly, realistically week." For such things were difficult
to simulate without knowing, without understanding the nature of the
vessel you fly.

How fortunate then that Chloe did know the vessel she was flying, fairly
well. It certainly helped her set the trap.

Shayne: Alvarez, man Ops. Caden, science. Ander, take the engineering
station. We’re going to be venting plasma in a moment and then
detonating it once the enemy is immersed in it. Take whatever
precautions are necessary and stand by.

It seemed as if backup had finally arrived in the form of the three
requested officers, although Chloe somehow failed to hear them enter the
room. Shayne, of course, would put them to good use.

Alvarez: Smart - fart in their face and light it with a match…

That was... incredibly crude. Chloe resisted the urge to turn from her
console and stare at her roommate. Words had no capacity in this moment
in her mind. Fart jokes. On the bridge of a starship. Was this really
happening? Was it all in Chloe's head? Was this all in SOMEONE ELSE'S head?

Caden/Ander: Response

Bridge: Response

The Edge grew closer, completely unaware of what was about to happen.
Surely, if they had known the next few minutes would be a disaster.

Alvarez: Manifolds primed and on your command, sir.

Serinus: Firing on your orders, Captain.

Chloe heard a startling slam behind her, and nearly fell from her chair
at the surprise of the sound. Fortunately, she was able to remain
upright, focused on the task at hand. Trapping the Edge in a cloud of
creativity. The form of that creativity didn't matter. All that was
important was that the Arrow was about to puncture its target, and
puncture it hard.

Shayne: Cut the cheese!

Bridge: response

With that... rather odd command, Chloe veered away onto a different
course, leaving the plasma behind them. They needed to get as far away
from the cloud as possible to ensure they themselves would take no
damage. Shayne waited an appropriate amount of time before bringing down
the hammer of destruction.

Shayne: Phasers- fire!

The viewscreen lit up like the sky on Federation Day, a fiery mass of
matter that threatened to consume everything around it. Fortunately for
the Arrow and her crew, they were outside the grasp of the hungry
flaming mass. Unfortunately for the Edge, the smaller pirate vessel was not.

Shayne: Helm, evasive pattern Delta. Science, gimme a scan of the cloud-
any signs of movement of power?

Ah yes. Pattern Delta. It was one of the more simplistic, yet
surprisingly effective maneuvers, particularly among smaller vessels.
Chloe drove the Arrow hard to port, attempting not to strain her too
much. Then, the vessel swung back around further starboard than it had
been previously. Back to port, and then back to starboard. Varying
speed, it made it less likely the Edge would be able to predict where
the Arrow would be ten seconds from now.

Waters: Evasive pattern delta confirmed.

Caden: Response

Shayne: Damage report! Tactical, target the Sheliak ship’s weapons and
standby for my command. Alvarez, any word on the Sheliak translators?

Ander/Alvarez/Serinus: Response
