((USS Arrow, Deck 3, Sickbay))

Sitting at the vacant desk so late in the evening, Cassie had to admit that she kind of understood why the crew steer clear of Sickbay when they can. Now that most of the injuries of their last mission had been dealt with and everyone was on shore leave, Sickbay was nearly desolate.

Compared to the open beaches and endless crystal waters of Casperia Prime, Sickbay felt a bit…stifling. And maybe it spoke volumes of her lessening need for professionalism that she’d even considered bringing a spare knitting project with her while on duty. Let alone that she’d actually do anything with them.

But she had to admit, it did make reading this boring research article go by faster.

Time seemed to fly by, so much so that she didn’t even notice the time until the Sickbay door swished open to reveal Ar’Gorvalei. And seemingly in pain if the way he was grabbing his shoulder was anything to go off of.

Ar’Gorvalei: Dr. Mason, could you please help me? I have a laceration in my right shoulder.

Immediately dropping her knitting project onto the desk, Cassie got up and gestured to one of the free biobeds.

Mason: Of course, take a seat.

Getting some antiseptic, Cassie figured she’d wait to inspect the cut before she started thinking on how best to treat it. With the bandage off, she could now clearly see that it must have been caused by a blade or glass for it to cut through the skin so cleanly.

Mason: How exactly did this happen?

Ar’Gorvalei: I brought a taco to a knife fight. ::Pause:: Commander Serinus and I came to the aid of a waitress accosted by drunken dissatisfied customers. One of them turned out to have a knife.

Mason: I’m sure the waitress was grateful. Though if it was a food knife it would have been wise to get it treated immediately instead of waiting to return to Sickbay.

After sterilizing the wound, Cassie used a dermal regenerator to patch up the cut. Even with it closed, she still applied an antiseptic gel and sterile dressings. This way it wouldn’t scar if the wound reopened.

Ar’Gorvalei: ::Shrugs, then winces:: I felt more comfortable having it treated on the Arrow than in the local infirmary.

Well she could certainly understand that. Besides, she’d probably been too at ease working on her own projects.

oO Well at least it gave me something to do. Oo

Though now that the thought crossed her mind, Commander Collins seemed to rush through the door, a knife of his own clutched in his hand.

Collins: Ohmigosh, I am so happy you both are here. I have a sort of...thing developing.

Mason: A thing?

Eyeing the knife warily, Cassie couldn’t help but to think that there must be something in the air. Or some odd cosmic coincidence will result in two knife fights in the same evening.

Ar'Gorvalei: Perhaps, Commander, you might consider putting the blade down first.

Collins: That's rather the problem, I'm afraid. I can't...seem to. I know we had a follow-up appointment scheduled...

Mason: You ran through the ship with a knife you can’t let go off?

Despite how dangerous that sounded, Cassie couldn’t help but to have to cover her mouth at the ridiculous grin she must have on her face.

Collins: Oh, trust me, I am keenly aware of how utterly ridiculous this makes me look. What can I do to help you help me?

Mason: First try to calm down. We’ll get this taken care of as soon as possible.

Ar'Gorvalei: Please come over to the biobed and lie down.

As Ar’Gorvalei instructed Quentin, Cassie couldn’t help but to notice that he was giving the man a wide berth. Getting into a knife fight with a drunkard would probably make anyone wary. But, even with his still sore, injured shoulder, Ar’Gorvalei went right to work.

Ar’Gorvalei: Can you please tell us what happened?

Collins: Response

Mason: And this is an exercise you do often? I mean do you have a history of using knives with a grip like this?

Collins: Response

Ar’Gorvalei: Response

It was possible this was just a simple issue of muscle cramps, or perhaps trigger finger if Quentin did this sort of exercise a lot.

oO If it’s just a cramp then this Asinolyathin should help. Oo

Then again, she didn’t know anything about Andorian weapons.

Mason: So the only things that have changed between training in the past and tonight is this blade and your recent injury?

Collins/Ar’Gorvalei: Response
