((Yunamax Hotel - Executive Suite))

Ruane: I think it would make the most sense to start with the body. Before we move it, we need to make sure we get adequate pictures for reference later. Sh'zatrahr, I’d like you to photograph the body and the scene. Then, we need to lay down markers at every item, and clue you can find. We’ll want to remove and examine many of the items in here.

Dar: Commander Ruane. This glass does contain some residuals of a sedative or toxin of some kind. However, I am not able to obtain any further information. It leads to the suspicion though, that our victim has been sedated or maybe intoxicated. Unless they took the substance by their own account. Diplomats at times are known for such actions due to extensive stress related to their work.

Ruane: Yes good point. It would be easy to assume foul play, wouldn’t it, but we do have to keep all possibilities in mind. Take a sample for analysis at the lab, let me know if anything else catches your attention.

Ruane: P’au, Dar, I want you to do a preliminary examination of the body and tell me what you find.

Dar: Yes, Commander.

P’au: P’au: There are a few questions I have that can only be solved in an autopsy. :: She stood up.::

Ruane: Once the engineers report to me, we’ll be able to move the body to the lab to run more in-depth tests and analysis. I’ll help comb and process the scene for other clues that warrant further investigation.

Ruane: I understand, and I expected as much. We should be able to transport the body in a few minutes. I just need you to work out the best means of doing so and whether a site to site transport would be safe.

P’au: Response

Ruane: Very well. I think sh’zatrahr has bagged all of the evidence now, so let’s get to the lab.

:: So they were good to go the lab. Finally the work had started and now it was time to resolve a mystery. This is going to be interesting. Even though this was Dar's first assignment and he as of now had a short career in Starfleet, murder and assassination was nothing that was common in the Federation.

((Hololab))

Ruane: P’au please focus on the body and complete a full autopsy.

P’au: Response

Ruane: Dar, please focus on the other items of evidence - what do you think should be prioritized first?

:: Dar thought for a moment before he answered. ::

Dar: I think, I would like to start with the liquid found in the glass. We know it contains some kind of tranquilizer or toxic substance. In addition, during this I can work with P'au for her to confirm whether or not this liquid is found in the body and if it caused the murder.

:: Dar looked over to P'au. ::

Dar: What do you think? Shall we get started?

P'au: Response

:: Dar grabbed a medical tricorder and opened it. Immediately the familiar sound became audible as the sophisticated equipment started to work. oO Let's see... Oo Dar thought as he began to scan the glass. The tricorder beeped as he scanned the liquid. Apparently it was an unknown liquid, they had not yet known... Dar sighed loudly... ::

Dar: So, let's try something else.

:: Dar made this comment more to himself than to anybody else in the room. ::

Dar: If you don't know the liquid, let's have a look at the components instead.

:: Dar kept talking to himself, while he made some adjustments to scan for the components of the liquid, the way it worked or whatever useful information he could get. Soon, he got some first results. ::

Dar: Interesting. The tricorder is unable to determine the liquid used in the glass, but it is definitely not part of the original beverage. However, I have been able to scan for the components it contains. On a first glance, it looks like it has components, that make it work somewhat like Federation Cordrazine - a stimulant with effects similar to alcohol.

:: Dar paused a moment and looked to the Medical Officer. ::

Dar: Dr. P'au please correct me if I am wrong.

:: Dar paused a moment and looked at his tricorder again. ::

However, a thorough scan reveals more than that. I am also detecting a component similar to what the Federation knows as Chloraxine. However, this drug is much more effective, so only a very small amount is required to reach the lethal dose. I would suggest, that someone mixed this into the drink of our guest here, hoping that the death might appear as a simple overdose or as a result of some stupid action under the effects of being drunk. Not everybody is as thorough as Starfleet and if they did not expect us to show up, this might not even have been detected at all, since technology here in the Delta Quadrant still isn't as advanced as within Starfleet.

:: Dar paused for a moment to check on something, than he turned to the Doctor. ::

Dar: Dr. P'au, I will make my information available to you. Can you check for these substances, when you do the autopsy and can you confirm if this has caused the death or not?

:: Dar pushed some buttons on the tricorder in order to send the information to the holo database and the tricorder of the medical officer.

P'au: Response

Ruane: Response

((OOC: Power is back and everything is back to normal. Just some backtrack with work that had to be done, but even that is almost worked off by now. So I should be all back. Sorry about that. ))
