Whittaker: Thank you. This means... a great deal to me.
:: Danni hadn’t known Whittaker long enough to form any real opinion but it was rare to find a Captain so loved by nearly every single crewmember she’d met. That alone told her, he probably deserved the promotion. ::
Walker: Wow! Well with that level of excitement, I'm not sure the buffet will keep my interest long, but I think I'd better stop stealing off Danni's plate.
:: Danni raised and eyebrow with a half smirk as she looked at her wife. ::
James: Might be a good idea if you want to keep all your fingers.
G'Renn: ...I guess that’s why all the guests were here.
Walker: I'll be right back.. :: grinning:: And I'll bring another plate for you as well my love. Doctor, did you want anything?
G’Renn: Ummm, just any fruit they have please.
James: And replacement for everything you snatched from me.
:: Danni shook her head and chuckled as the pink haired half-Romulan made a beeline toward the food. ::
G’Renn: I’m tempted to go up there right away to go talk to the captain, but ::She looked over at the crowd gathering around the freshly promoted captain:: I feel like there’s going to be quite a few people in that line right now.
::Danni popped another piece of fruit into her mouth, chewed and swallowed before responding.::
James: At least half the ship.
G’Renn: So, tell me a little about yourself. Medical records can’t really say that much about a person.
James: ::smiling:: Not really much to tell. I was born on Earth, sorta grew up on Risa. Left when I was sixteen and worked my way back to Earth on whatever freighters I could con.. talk my way onto. Pure luck I got accepted into Starfleet Academy and here I am. ::She thought for a moment.:: I have a knack with computers oO I.E. I’m a hacker. Oo and I’m a bit of prankster though my wife says I’m losing my touch. ::shrugging:: What about you?
::Of course Danni left out certain details, like being “ditched” by her mom when she was sixteen, thus kinda forced to work her way back to Earth. It was something she didn’t really like to talk about, not even with Luna. Whatever… she was determined to never do the same to her kid… kids.::
G’Renn: I was born on Vulcan, went to Starfleet Medical Academy… and I love baseball.
James: Baseball? Really? ::smiling:: I never would have guessed. I played a little soccer at the Academy but never really got into baseball.
::They talked a while longer. Danni found herself actually relaxing and enjoying their conversation. She didn’t have many friends outside Engineering.. actually outside of Luna. She’d never really given it much thought before but, she found herself hoping they could be friends.::
