((Recreation Deck 2 - Level 27 - Deep Space 26))

((Before the start of the awards))

((OOC - A little back simming, before shore leave ends. If anyone is with Captain Brell at this moment, please jump in.))

::The buffet table displayed all the various foods from the member races of the Federation. Bajoran hesperat, Vulcan Plomeek soup, Ferengi tube worms (how those got there was anyone's guess), and an Earth favorite, the hor d'ourve called 'pigs in a blanket, small sausage like pieces of meat wrapped in a pastry-like shell. He assembled a small plate and turned to look at the band again, almost spilling it when he nudged someone. He blinked as he saw who it was.::

Pandorn: Captain Brell!! Good to see you again, sir. ::puts down the plate and extends his hand::

::Captain Brell's dexterity was on display as he extended his free hand while not dropping the quite full plate in the other. The former XO of the Blackwell and present Captain of the Atlantis beamed a smile just the same.::

Brell: Krindo! It is nice to see you as well. It has been a long time.

Pandorn: Seems like an eternity. ::smiles:: Congratulations on the promotion and command, sir, belated as it is.

::Krindo was disappointed in himself for not attending in person. Captain Brell was the first person he met when he joined the Task Force and immediately made him feel welcome. Krindo kept kicking himself for weeks afterwards.::

Brell:: Thank you, It seems you have been through some changes since last we saw each other too. Have you finally settled in on Blackwell?

Pandorn: You could say that, sir. But the Blackwell is a tougher than she looks. ::smiles with pride::

Brell: I’m glad to hear that you have come to see that fully.

::Krindo did come to realize that. But in the beginning, the thought of being a tactical officer on a medical ship didn't sound fufilling. But, not everything was as it seemed and Krindo found that it was just as important as if he were on the Za. The past few months were testament to that.::

Pandorn: I did have a few reservations to be honest, sir. But now, I’m glad to be aboard her.

Brell: No matter what ship it is, the officers and their trust in each other is what is most important. Remember that.

Pandorn: Indeed, sir. A ship is what her crew is. And this ship has a good crew. ::smiles:: How is your family?

Brell: Lyldra and Hars are with me, ::Motioning over his shoulder to their table and grinning.:: Still on their first plates.

::Looking over, Krindo saw Captain Brell's wife and co-husband dining and having what looked like a pleasant conversation. They looked good together, and Krindo started to miss his own family. Well, Amy at least. She was more open than Krindo's step-parents. He brought his attention back to the present. As Captain Brell, shook his handagain.::

Brell: I should be getting back, it was nice to chat. Hopefully we will have time to do so again after the usual speeches.

Pandorn: Yes, sir!! ::grins:: You have to bring pictures of your little ones. Bet they've grown like weeds.

Brell: Response

::As Captian Brell made his way back to his table, Krindo ambled his way to the bar. The party was still in full swing and there were some at the bar.

The night was still young.::

Anyone: Response

((OOC - Going to move ahead in the preparations for the move to the Columbia. Feel free to keep this backsim going.))
