((Shi’kahr District, Amity Outpost))
It had been awhile since she had last seen Aitis, perhaps 3 or 4 years. Of course they kept in contact and exchanged communications when Seleya had questions about intel. But she never imagined she’d be paying a visit to her all the way out in the Delta Quadrant. But here she was.
While here though she felt it was a good chance to brush up on her Tassa’Akai. Aitis has taught her the basics back on Risa and Seleya had been practicing since. However the holo-instructors only got her so far, and there were some parts of this fighting style that were made for telepaths in mind, which Seleya was not.
Seleya arranges the time to meet her friend, making her way to the Vulcan district, following the instructions sent to a park. Seleya wasn’t surprised this district had Vulcan gravity but her body which was still recovering was. At least the oxygen was not reduced.
After a brief introduction, they had begun their practice.
Aitas: Show me your posture, then.
Seleya: Of course
Seleya adopted the first stance, she was familiar with these growing up practicing various martial arts. However the increased gravity made it more difficult than she was expecting, and it seemed Aitis pointed out where her posture was lacking. Quickly fixing as she tried to focus on her breathing.
Aitas: Show me the starting lunges, first. Then we can move on to the batons.
Seleya: I can do that.
Seleya nodded and once again followed her instruction to begin the lunges, a subtle heat from her still aching muscles started to increase, but Seleya fought through. However in trying to push that aside she didn’t pay attention to her breathing and before she knew it she had to pause to catch her breath.
Aitas: Start slowly. Let yourself adjust a bit to the gravity. You’ll tire far more quickly here.
Seleya nodded, still panting as she tried to catch her breath.
Seleya: Yah, I am finding that out.
Seleya let out an exhausted breathy laugh and when she was feeling better she stood back up, adopting her stance again.
Aitis: Response
Seleya: Besides the obvious lack of telepathy, I’ve been struggling with using the two akai. A lot of the instructions call for using two of them, and I’m only used to having one weapon in my hand.
Aitis: Response
Seleya: Well, so far I’ve only used one, and I probably use it closer to a sword because that is what I am more familiar with, which I know already that is probably wrong.
Aitis: Response
