Commander Ysal - Follow the Blood

For all the chatter and debate aboard the Indy, from Ysal’s perspective the ship wasn’t doing much - at least at first. They sat, fingers drumming a hole into the arm of their command chair, and waited.

Their wait paid off. The Federation vessel made an attempt to enter Underspace, struggling. Like a vykra grub trying to get its little body through the skin of a fruit, Ysal thought. They surged to their feet.

Ysal: Contact them -

They didn’t get the time; the Indy’s struggle worked, after a fashion. It was one of the least elegant entries into Underspace Ysal had ever seen, the little ship bouncing from one rift to another before their sensors confirmed the crossover.

Crew: They’ve entered Underspace, Commander. Location estimated at-

Ysal: Follow them.

With their location in Trenvonn claimed space, Ysal wasn’t keen to wait for the damned birds to show up and squawk at them. As justified as they personally would have felt shooting them down, that wasn’t their mission.

Yet, anyway. Soon.

The Retaliation’s engines and warp controls spun up, elegantly opening its own rift into Underspace. It slipped through without issue, the whirl of Underspace replacing the star-strung void on the viewscreen.

Ysal: Track that ship down.

Crew: Yes, Commander.

They turned, and sought in the Indy. Their prey was injured; what self-respecting predator wouldn’t take the time to strike?
