Ysal was not a happy Vaadwuar.

They paced the deck near the comms stations, arms behind their back. The operation they were helping run was a tight one; schedules were to be maintained, communications brief and to-the-point. So far the whole thing had been going well, even if Underspace’s unique challenges sometimes meant taking the long way around.

But now they had a ship overdue.

At first they were simply annoyed that someone had messed up and disturbed the whole logistics network; the ripples of this ship’s unhurried pace would slow the whole chain for awhile, and Ysal was fully prepared to dress the VSW Resurgence’s captain down so hard they shed their scales.

But then the delay grew longer and longer.

Ysal: Still no response from the Resurgence?

Officer: No, sir. No response.

Ysal: And nothing from our buoys?

Officer: No, sir.

Ysal: ::They made a hissing curse under their breath.:: Fine. Keep checking, all frequencies. If they haven’t passed the 519 marker by tonight…

They’d be officially missing, not just overdue. With a huff, Ysal finally gave in and called the Overseer.

Ysal: =/\= Commander  Ysal to Overseer Serenth. I must inform you that the VSW Resurgence is officially overdue for arrival. =/\=

Serenth: =/\= Response =/\=

Ysal: =/\= Yes, Overseer, on all frequencies. They were last sighted at the Devinon 395 marker as they entered the corridor. Since then, nothing. =/\=

The idea that a Vaadwuar ship would be overcome by Underspace was laughable; why, it was practically their playground! Surely, if she was lost, it was due to enemy action. Surely…

Ysal: =/\= I cannot rule anything out at this time, Overseer. We are searching on all frequencies and scans. But we may need to launch a search party. =/\=
