Nathan leaned back on the couch with his cup of coffee, trying to enjoy some quiet time. He was glad to be on shore leave after their encounter with the Hirogen. It seemed like everything was moving at warp speed lately and Nathan was glad to have even just a moment of peace. It was not meant to be, as his combadge chimed and Scotty’s voice came through.
Reade: =/\= Hey Nathan, I have a repair job to complete. Do you wanna help? =/\=
Nathan looked down at his steaming cup of coffee with a sigh. Life never stopped.
Richards: =/\= Sure! What do you have? =/\=
Reade: =/\= Cool, we have to repair an environmental control system in Peace Park. =/\=
Nathan stood, moving to the replicator as Scotty spoke, placing his coffee onto the tray and requesting a ‘to-go’ cup.
Richards: =/\= Sounds good. Let me get ready and I will head down to the park. =/\=
Reade: =/\= Great, see you there. It’s in the Lor’Vana biome; see you there. =/\=
Nathan hung his head and sighed. oO Of course it’s the coldest biome. Oo
Nathan quickly put his uniform on and grabbed his cup of coffee before heading out the door and towards the train.
((Lor’Vana Biome, Peace Park))
Nathan stood at the border between the Lor’Vana Biome and the Cherry Blossom Biome, looking out at the barren land that sat before him. Rock and metal equipment littered the area that is usually covered in snow and ice, making it look like something you would see on a planet locked shipyard. He ran his hand through his hair and took a deep breath. It was going to be an interesting day.
Reade: Hey Nathan.
Nathan turned to see Scotty approaching him. He turned back to the biome beyond, gesturing a the landscape with a shrug.
Richards: This is an interesting one, Lieutenant.
Reade: Yea looks totally off right no snow or anything. Something must be going wrong with the environmental control systems.
Richards: ::Nodding:: Or possibly something with the photonic barriers separating the biome from the others. ::Shrugging::
Reade: yeah we need to take this section off while we investigate. I’ll call up Bec to help us get a perimeter set.
Nathan nodded, looking over the landscape. This was the first time that he had been this close with any of the systems involved in Peace Park, so he was looking forward to the learning experience.
Reade: =/\= Scotty to Bec. We need your help up here in Peace Park, in the Lor’Vana biome. =/\=
Iko: =/\= I’ll be down in 10, just let me quickly finish what i’m doing… =/\=
Reade: ::Turning around:: She’s on the way, what do you want to check first?
Nathan rubbed his chin, thinking about a good starting point.
Richards: I think I will take a look at the containment system. Maybe one of the holo emitters is on the fritz. ::Turning to Scotty:: Maybe divide and conquer? You look at the environmental controls?
Reade: Response
Nathan nodded and pulled out his tricorder. They had work to do.

Nathan looked over the readings on his tricorder, looking up as he heard footsteps approaching along the path.
Iko: Hello–Oh hi Richie I didn’t know you’d be here.
Nathan gave her a warm smile as she approached.
Richards: Good to see you, Bec. Glad you could join us.
Reade: Response
Iko: ::Tapping her foot against the floor:: I see our problem. The actual temperature hasn’t been affected… ::slight scowl:: or maybe that’s just me.
Nathan chuckled, holstering his tricorder.
Richards: It’s not just you. I think it’s a mental thing. You expect to be cold when coming in here so you feel cold.
Reade: Response
Richards: Unfortunately, it appears that nothing in here is working. I’m getting sporadic readings from the holo emitters for the containment, and if i’m right, you’re not finding anything happening with the environmental systems, right Scotty?
Reade/Iko: Response
Richards: So, we have a dead biome and no real explanation for it. ::Smirking:: There is a mystery afoot.
Reade/Iko: Response
Richards: I think this is a bit out of Sherlock Holmes territory, but I think we can figure this out!
