Stros: =/\= Lieutenant Commander Stros. Head of Technological Research and Development for the “Whispering Wall” facility. ::Looking around the command center briefly:: And “Wandering Stone” it would seem. =/\=

Aitas: =/\= Second Secretary Aitas, Cultural Affairs. The Diplomatic Corps are quite interested in hearing just why multiple facilities were established without proper procedure. =/\=

The message had gone out on a very broad band. Anyone who could respond to their comms would already have received most of the citations in question.

Stros: =/\= I can assure you, Second Secretary, We are here on orders from Starfleet Command. But I’m sure you aren’t here solely to cite us for some violation. =/\=

‘Here on orders’ wasn’t exactly a robust defense of the facility and how it had been established, but any inquiries on that account would benefit from surviving witnesses. She kept her expression calm, though not quite cold.

Ukinix: =/\= Response =/\=

Moore/Miller: =/\= Response? =/\=

Stros: =/\= I’m sure you sent an away team down to the “Whispering Wall” facility. And I’m sure you have discovered the “Interlink” project, correct? =/\=

Ukinix: =/\= Response =/\=

Discovered was an interesting way of phrasing it. As if Stros assumed they hadn’t been briefed at all.

Moore/Miller: =/\= Response? =/\=

Stros stepped closer to the viewscreen, his face still a blank slate of emotion.

Stros: =/\= Then I implore you, Commander, to help my team. An unknown vessel took control of our facility during tests of the “Interlink” system. They began to scan and download our entire database. Including all of the information on you and your crew, Commander. =/\=

Ukinix: =/\= Response =/\=

Moore/Miller: =/\= Response? =/\=

That created numerous possibilities, most of them concerning. Just how a ship had known to come here and interface with the system, let alone when it had obtained files on the Amity staff…well,  that created a flurry of questions that Stros seemed rather too preoccupied to answer.

Stros: =/\= There is one more thing, Commander. The– =/\=

At which point the message ended abruptly. Another worrisome sign.

Miller: If our comms are being tracked, I recommend moving to Starfleet secure channel 1050. This channel is usually only used in extreme situations, but this mare warrants the cause. :: To Aitas:: Does the FDC have a secure comms line that we can tap into as well?

Aitas: Possibly, but I’d want to eliminate a few other possibilities first.

Moore/Ukinix: Response

Miller: Commander, should we contact Stros again? When he first appeared, our comms started having micro glitches.

Aitas raised an eyebrow.

Aitas: There were issues with the messages I received back from Amity as well. If Interlink is already active it might explain the disruption?

Ukinix/Moore: Response

Aitas couldn’t see the new bodies right when they appeared on the bridge, but it was easy to sense them, and to hear the faint hints of their footsteps amid the other noise.

Stros: You and your crew seem to have a penchant for the unnecessary, Commander.

Whereas their new arrival had a flair for the dramatic.

Ukinix/Moore/Miller: Response

Stros: Hello there.

Aitas, being forewarned, didn’t even blink. She finished entering in her latest analysis before slowly turning around and returning just a small fraction of Stros’ smile as she met his eyes.

Aitas:That answers my question about Interlink.

Ukinix/Moore/Miller: Response

Stros: ::His smile fading to a more “Vulcan” posture:: I hope you do not mind a few stow-aways, Commander.

Ukinix/Moore/Miller: Response

Aitas took another step forward, toward the center seat. At least she wasn’t wearing gloves.

Aitas: :quietly, politely, to Wil:: Might I make a small suggestion?

She held her hand out to Wil, palm up.

Ukinix: Response

It was the work of a moment to pass the general idea on telepathically. There were a lot of tricks one could do with the computers, delays and distractions and little details of communication that Aitas had had to be quite aware of in her previous work. If someone else had tapped into Interlink, well, there were a great many ways that could cause trouble.

She followed a brief mention of Fureri. Having a bot that effectively functioned as a limb that could run separately around the ship might have its uses.

Though the whole situation would, admittedly, have been much easier if Aitas hadn’t specifically been a touch telepath.

Ukinix: Response

Moore/Miller/Stros: Response

She nodded, and then stepped back over to Lieutenant Miller’s station where she once again held out a hand.

Aitas: ~You’ll need to ensure the default feed from the bridge is misleading, Lieutenant.~

There were a few rough ideas attached, but while Aitas did have more knowledge than average on the subject, it was ultimately Miller’s area of expertise.

Miller: Response:

Ukinix/Moore/Stros: Response

She turned her tone deliberately casual.

Aitas: Is there anything else I can assist with?

Her gaze settled a bit on Stros. She had to wonder just what version he’d gotten of her file.

And, well, he was the other person present who could duplicate certain techniques she'd just used.
