[Act 2] Berapli - Ease of Transition

((Turei Scout Ship Starshell, near the edge of Trenvonn Territory))

There was a hail from the Federation vessel. It was one of the smaller ones; Berapli could distinguish this from the others by the fact that it had come freshly from their outpost, and thus lacked the recent exposure to the underspace rift.

Which, from what little she had seen, meant it would be more structurally sound. 

Berapli: =/\= Are you prepared for underspace? =/\=

Iko: =/\= We’re just about ready, just seeing if we can make it easy for the Independence to track us from normal space. =/\=

That the Federation lacked that capacity was something Berapli had already guessed. There were many reasons she had offered the use of the beacons.

And that she had only shown them a small portion of the network. Further trust needed to be earned. 

Berapli: =/\= I can maintain that contact, if necessary.  Is there anything else you require beforehand? =/\=

Her own scans of the area were not as in-depth as she would like, given the instability of some local portions of underspace. But that could only be solved by entering it. 

Iko: =/\= If I had my way we’d be gone by now. But… any chance you could help us get in? =/\=

Berapli: =/\= I can, but I do not fully know which entrances would be safe for you. Your vessels are not built to slide simply into underspace. =/\=

She curled her hand around one of the controls, running another simulation of potential underspace entry as she did so. 

Iko: =/\= Response =/\=

Berapli: =/\= I could open an entry here, yes. But there is a gentler path nearby. =/\=

She did not expect them to share extensive details on their shields or hull composition, both of which would be needed to give a proper evaluation.

Iko: =/\= Response =/\=

Berapli: =/\= A few of your minutes. It was a supply depot on that side, once. =/\=

And long-abandoned, to her knowledge. Perhaps some survivors had put it to use. Perhaps the Vaadwaur had. She reached back to touch the sigils on her seat again, tracing their patterns, the memory of the names.
