((Robin Hoopers Apartment, Beijing District - 0955 hours))
Char knelt down by one of the new terminals securing it in place where Robin's table had been. The last time she had been here she had been crying to Robin and drinking her tea as her and Kaito had gone through one of the worst fights of their relationship. And now here she was trying to save Amity and the crew that would remain with Kaito. They had moved in together. It was so crazy that they had come to this point now.
Vanlith: How are we looking with set up? Is power confirmed at the other terminals? Just finishing this one.
Rosek-Skyfire: I've checked all the algorithms and everything should line up and function like it's supposed to.
Moore: Running the last of the cables now!
Saavei: Response
Char didn’t look up as she made the final connections and then rose up checking the screen as the terminal came online.
Vanlith: This one is all good.
Moore: And I am seeing a solid connection to the station’s computer core. Speed isn’t as fast as Ops, but given the lack of networking traffic with everyone gone, we should be golden.
Rosek-Skyfire: Jury-rigged systems never seem to work quite as good as the original. Besides which, I don't believe residential quarters were designed for this sort of power. We'll have to be careful.
Vanlith: We can check that we remain below the thresholds, but it will have to be watched closely; otherwise, we’re going to be battling overloads here, and that’s not going to be ideal, to say the least.
Saavei: Response
The comm badges in the room chirped and Char flicked her hair off her shoulders. Did they have more information on when this was going to hit from science?
Wong: =/\=Aloha? This is Lieutenant Wong. I’m going to be on my way up with some hypos of lectrazine-hyronalyn and a portable replicator.=/\=
Rosek-Skyfire: ::taps her combadge:: =/\=Acknowledged, Doctor. I assume Doctor Skyfire left behind the instructions for my injection?=/\=
Char bit back a groan. She hated hypos, she wasn’t exactly a fan of doctors overall. She had put it in a closed off part of her head that they were going to need hypos.
Vanlith: We can prepare a transporter beam here. Buy us some more time instead of waiting.
She began typing away as she set up the parameters.
Saavei: Response
Wong: =/\=Please no transporters. I’m not exactly keen to have my body scattered to the four corners of the Outpost if we have a mishap.=/\=
Vanlith: ::quietly to herself:: Or not I guess.
Saavei: Response.
Wong: =/\=I tend to file transporter accidents on the list of things in space that kind of want you dead.=/\=
Char had to stop herself from rolling her eyes. Thanks for the vote of confidence that they could do this. She remembered next time she had a medical issue to not give him the vote of confidence if he was dealing with it.
Rosek-Skyfire: =/\= Fair enough. =/\=
Saavei: Response.
Wong: =/\=Uh…. Question? How stable are the turbolifts right now? Because right now, there’s one between me and you.=/\=
Char looked through the terminal screen pulling up the lift functionality.
Vanlith: =/\= Looks good to use. =/\=
Saavei: Response.
Wong: =/\=AHHH!!! STARS!!!=/\=
Char moved to join Kaito's terminal and looked at the screen, a second lifeform. What on Risa was that?
Saavei: Response.
Wong: =/\=Sorry. It’s one of Orrey’s stupid vole—er— weasel things jumped out at me. You know it occurs to me that I don’t think we ever settled on a proper name for these things yet. But anyways, side note - we have a rodent problem. Apparently, some of them made their way to engineering.=/\=
oO Faka, engineering. This is not good. Oo
Moore: =/\= Those aren’t the conduit-eating kind, are they? =/\=
Vanlith: ::Looking at Lael::. If so we are going to have issues if they get into engineering properly. They will cause this place to shut down if they chew the wrong conduit. But it has the highest energy reading for them to want to feast from.
Saavei: Response.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::frowns:: =/\= There's different kinds?=/\=
Wong: =/\=Response.=/\=
Moore: =/\= Well, have we tried shooting them? I am seeing a few more around you, and we really don’t need anything chewing on the EPS relays or causing a fire.=/\=
Char glared at Kaito. And made a mental note to talk to him later about not shooting peoples pets otherwise he was encouraging people to shoot the Tribbles without asking questions.
Rosek-Skyfire: =/\= Shooting them may not be the best option, depending on how many there are. Is there possibly a way to put them to sleep without putting the lieutenant to sleep? Induce hibernation or something? Or we can just beam them somewhere else where they will be less trouble? =/\=
Char spun back to her terminal and began trying to find a spot they could be transported to.
Vanlith: Isolating a spot but unless we can beam all of them and find them all it may not make a lot of difference, we currently know the location of one of them.
Saavei: Response.
Wong: =/\=Response=/\=
Rosek-Skyfire: =/\= Whatever we're going to do, we need them someplace where they're not going to cause damage that we just don't have time to fix. We can't afford to lose any power right now. We need everything we've got. =/\=
Vanlith: One of the Cargo Holds in the shipping and customs department, we transport this one there and then find the others?
Saavei/Moore: Response
Wong: =/\=Response=/\=
Rosek-Skyfire: ::to Vanlith:: What do you think? Will it work without turning us into sitting ducks?
Char typed away at the console as she ran calculations in her head.
Vanlith: They have unique enough bio-signatures to run an internal transport of just those bio-signatures to the cargo hold. They can eat until they are stuffed there off the metal and we can deal with repairs and damages later but they shouldn’t be able to impact main systems unless they somehow get out again.
Saavei/Moore/Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Char nodded and began to type away, isolating the bio-signature for transport. She confirmed the orders and waited for the confirmation from Wong that he was no longer being terrorised.
Vanlith: =/\= Confirm the weasel is gone and you are still in the turbo lift? =/\=
Wong: =/\=Response=/\=
Char let out a slow breath.
Saavei/Moore/Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Wong: =/\=Response=/\=
Char began to work again this time isolating the bio-signature and running as detail a scan of amity she could afford to run right now. It wasn’t going to be perfect and she didn’t know how many signatures she was looking for but this was the best she could do with the resources she had.
Vanlith: =/\= Preparing mass transport of the bio-signatures to the cargo hold. =/\= ::to Saavei and Moore:: Can you make sure the turbolift is running and check that the cargo hold is locked down?
Saavei/Moore/Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Wong: =/\=Response=/\=
(OOC: Open for there to be more back and forth about other stuff here whilst Char works away at trying to get rid of the weasels.)
Char continued to work whilst the others spoke. She typed away and finally was able to send what she could only hope was all the weasels to cargo hold. Hopefully they didn’t do too much damage there. She sent a silent prayer to the Givers there was enough metal to be a food source seeing as they all appeared to be hungry without them wanting to break out for the good stuff that was the energy. Given the cargo hold was away from the main systems this should hopefully buy them time before the weasels would be interested in trying to find a way out as everything else was as shut down as possible. But there were never any guarantees of something like that.
Vanlith: Transport complete, did I get them all? Do we even know how many there should be there?
Saavei/Moore/Rosek-Skyfire: Response
