Arthur grinned stupidly at ‘Lorraine’ for a second before attempting to hide his expression and pondered whether the Pygorian’s many eyes were better at picking up subtle gestures – or if they might in fact be worse, given the extra ‘infromation’ to process. Lorqui, having had a moment to look over the menu, seemed ready to order.

Kansatsu-sha: I believe I'll take this :: showing the waitress the item :: Thanks

Lorraine: Alright, I’ll be back in a jiffy with your orders. See you later, Arty.

The goofy smile returned to Arthur’s face as he looked to Lorqui. The reporter shrugged.

Summerside: What can I say? This place has everything.

Kansatsu-sha: I can see the appeal of the place, but there's something I don't see around here…

Summerside: Oh?, yeah? What’s that?

Kansatsu-sha: Starfleet uniforms.

Summerside: Ah - like I said. Everything. Including a little peace from the flatfoots. I understand this station is run by the Federation, but I’d expected to run into more diplomats here and fewer officers. Everyone of them so stone-faced and quiet.

Kansatsu-sha: I guess this place is somewhere safe for you, or at least comfortable. Maybe this place gives you some kind of boost to perform your work?

Arthur laughed. A strained laugh that fizzled out into a grumble.

Summerside: …Yeah, that’s if I had any work to do. But I do like this place. It feels more like home than anywhere else on the station.

Kansatsu-sha: I've found a spot for myself, It's near terminal B. Good views, a quiet place that not much people visit if not looking for a transport...

Summerside: A good place to grab the attention of the tourists coming to Amity, you mean? Tell ‘em to head to ol’ Lorqui’s shop?

Kansatsu-sha: Well,... :: smiling :: It never hurts to see who's coming in and out from time to time. It helps not only with making contacts, but those who see me as they get in, won't be as surprised when they reach the Mezzanine and my shop, but it also ease them to decide to buy something.

Summerside: Honestly, Mr. Kansatsu-sha, even I’m not entirely clear on just what it is you do. You seem to dabble in a little bit of everything. But we’ve all got to do something, don’t we?

Kansatsu-sha: What can I say. I'm a man with a business, I have to look to make profit when and wherever I can. I'm sure a 'man of the people' like you understand that.

Arthur sat back in the booth, resting his arm on the back of it. He removed his hat with his other hand and set it on the corner of the table.

Summerside: Profit, eh? Careful with that capitalist talk here on a Federation station, my friend. Not exactly towing the party line! That said - have you drummed up any extra business since the article?

Kansatsu-sha: I have my own resources... but I found it quite funny to see my words quoted in an article.

Summerside: First timers always do. Everyone’s used to speaking so freely. When you see your words recorded in writing you realise that the things we say can come along with some sort of permanence after all. ::Waving a hand dismissively:: And that’s why nobody wants to talk to me.

Kansatsu-sha: Response

At that point, Lorraine returned to the table with their orders. Arthur leaned forward once more as a platter of waffles, eggs, and bacon - with a side of hash browns - was placed in front of him.

Arthur: Thanks Lorraine. You’re a dish yourself, ya know?

Lorraine gave him a playful whack on the shoulder.

Lorraine: ::To Lorqui:: He’s a real sweet talker, isn’t he? Here’s your order, sir. Hope you enjoy it. First time here?

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Don’t worry. He’ll enjoy it.

Lorraine: Alright, enjoy boys. Holler at me if you need anything.

With that, she went back to the kitchen to drop off the cleared trays. Arthur watched as the doors swung shut behind her before turning back to Lorqui.

Arthur: Like I was saying. Nobody wants to talk to me - at least nobody official. I’ve tried everything I can think of. Everybody just wants to talk ‘off the record’. They don’t seem to understand that ‘the record’ is my business.

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Well, I did run into Amity’s Chief Medical Officer today. Mr. Wong - you know he’s not actually a doctor? Funny thing. The point is, I’m pretty sure that someone’s warned everyone against talking to me. Very clandestine, don’t you think?

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Well what would you do if you were in my position?

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur scowled. He didn’t like receiving advice. He should have known better than to ask for it.

Arthur: ::Changing the subject:: How’s your grub?

Arthur pointed at the man’s food as he took a bite of his own waffles.

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Ah, no. You can thank the Universal Translators for that one. I promise you, you are not eating literal grubs. oO At least, I don’t think so… Oo

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Well – word is, there’s some sort of New Years shindig coming up. I guess, lining up with the Federation Standard Calendar. You have any plans to get in on that?

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: I’ll be there. I’m bettering Ambassador Vataix will be there and this could be my chance to meet her at last at a social gathering where she can’t escape me. ::Shrugging:: If that fails, at least there’s free booze.

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Say, you wanna come as my plus one, Lorqui? Could be a great opportunity for a businessman like you to network as well.

Kansatsu-sha: Response

Arthur: Alright, well assuming they let me in, I’ll see what I can do.

TBC / END?

((OOC - feel free to continue if you like, or we can wrap up here since the mission is coming up!))
