((Warp Core Tattoos - San Francisco))
A quick walk and the group was at their destination. The shop was clean and looked like a decent place to get a tattoo. The nerves and excitement seemed to emanate from the whole group, or it could have been all Sam. She wasn't sure.
Wong: Okay. They’re going to assign us each an artist to work on us. We’ll be in close proximity to each other by the looks of it.
S. Richards: ::nodding:: Sounds like a plan.
Yirah: ::still distracted by the wall of tattoos:: Ok.
Galanis: I’m surprised this place is popular enough to have so many artists on standby.
Sam noticed as Ikaia began to look uncomfortable, and only amplified that feeling when he spoke.
Wong: Aaah so, we’re all still in agreement, right? Last chances and all that!
S. Richards: ::raising her eyebrow:: Oh no! You are not getting nervous now!
Galanis: ::nodding very matter-of-factly:: Agreed. Your time to keep dry feet passed as soon as we all agreed to roll. What’s that Klingon saying? “It is a good day to… get a butt tattoo.”
The surprising comment from Niev caused Sam to break out in laughter. oO I really like sassy Niev. Oo
Yirah: What? Did something happen?
Wong: Response
Looking at the four artist’s standing around waiting to tattoo them, Sam smiled.
S. Richards: Alright! Which one of you is ready to tattoo my butt?
Yirah: Please be respectful to the artists Sam.
Feeling a bit embarrassed by her outward excitement, Sam felt her cheeks flush and she took a step backwards.
Galanis: ::casting a suspiciously amused expression Sam’s way:: You say that like it’s where you planned on getting this tattoo from the very start…
Sam nudged Niev with her elbow and gave them a smirk as she shook her head at them.
Wong: Response
Tattoo Artists: ::spoken by one of them:: We’ll be with you shortly.
The four artists began to get their stations ready,
Yirah: We’re all getting the same tattoo. ::looking to the group.:: Actually, what script are we getting it in?
Galanis: My first thought was suggesting binary, but that might be overly long, considering the placement choice of half our group.
S. Richards: hmmm… ::Sam pulled out her PADD from her bag:: Give me a second.
She didn’t necessarily think of herself as an artist, but she knew she could throw something together they all might like.
Wong: Response
Yirah: Well, I figure an Earth script since we’re on Earth. We could do Hangul, Thai script, Latin alphabet, Cherokee syllabary, Chinese characters, Maya glyphs… any striking your fancy?
Galanis: Considering the purpose of these tattoos… I have to admit Federation Standard English seems the most appropriate.
S. Richards: Check this out. ::holding up the PADD:: What do you all think of this?
Sam looked around to the group trying to gauge their reactions by the looks on their faces.
S. Richards: Ultimately up to you each individually, but ::shrugging:: I think this could work.
((OOC: This does not mean that this is exactly what your character ends up with. It’s up to you.))
Wong: Response
The artists were now ready to tattoo the group. The first one walked up to Sam. She looked up to meet his face as he was much taller than her. The Andorian had a wide array of tattoos covering most visible spots on his body oO I wonder where else he’s hiding them.Oo She thought he was handsome, which made her a bit nervous to be showing him her butt.
Atav: Worry now. My name is Atav. This won’t be my first butt.
Galanis: ::sounding genuinely perplexed:: Is that something to be proud of…?
S. Richards: I’m glad my butt is in good hands ::smiling up at Atav:: I want to do this the old-fashioned way.
Yirah/Wong: Response
Ikaias artist was next to step forward. A Vulcan woman with short black hair. A surprising addition to a tattoo shop, but Sam wasn’t about to judge, after meeting Sirn, she knew Vulcans could be fun.
T’fea: Greetings. I am T’fea. We will proceed to that chair ::indicating the second from the left:: and you will present your gluteus maximus.
Galanis: If only the doctor could have fit that term on his die.
Her hand shot up and covered her mouth before she let out a snicker.
S. Richards: ::to Wong:: Good luck.
Yirah/Wong: Response
The third artist walked up to Indrid. She had fun colored pink streaks in her hair, which Sam appreciated. The human woman was covered in tattoos from what Sam could see, as she flashed a grin at Indrid and gestured to the chair he would be sitting in.
Sabine: Name’s Sabine. Don’t be nervous, you’ll be fine! I’ve always loved Trill spots - they’re like nature’s tattoos.
Galanis: That’s… certainly one way to put it.
A smirk came from Sam as Niev threw out another seemingly sassy remark.
Wong/ Yirah: Response
Niev was now left with the last artist standing, another human covered in intricate tattoos, who didn't seem as talkative like the others, pointing to their name tag to show Niev they liked to be called ‘Dave”.
Galanis: Hello, Dave. The back will be fine. Right… ::their hand reaches over their head, indicating a spot below the shoulder line:: here.
Sam watched for a moment as Niev got quiet for a moment. As she was about to ask if they were okay they spoke.
Galanis: I’d like to do it the old-fashioned way as well.
An excited squeal came from Sam
S. Richards: Yes! ::quickly running over to Niev and holding up her hand:: Hi five my friend!
((OOC: This part was discussed with Nievs writer))
Niev stared at Sams, held up hand and slowly put theirs up, giving a small wave.
S. Richards: ::whispering to Niev:: oh no… you don’t know how to high five…
She held Nievs wrist and used their hand to slap Sam’s free hand. With a nod she held hers up again allowing Niev to give it a go on their own. They gave her hand a quick clap. She nodded again with a smile and scrambled back to her spot with the artist.
Wong/Yirah/Galanis: Response
S. Richards: ::looking up again at Atav:: I guess it’s time to show the goods so to speak?
Atav: I can’t tattoo it if I can’t see it ::smirking:: Show me the goods.
Sam looked around to the others and gave them a warning.
S. Richards: If any of you tell Nathan about this I will tell him you kept looking at my butt ::pointing to each of them slowly:: Don’t make me use my big brother as a weapon.
Wong/Yirah/Galanis: Response
Turning back around to Atav, Sam quickly dropped her shorts and glanced behind her to see if any of them were watching. She got situated in place and waited for the Andorian to get started.
S. Richards: ::glancing to her friends:: Here’s to surviving Frontier Day.
Wong/Yirah/Galanis: Response
