Lt. JG Scotty Reade & Crewman 2nd Class Obih Geano - Power Push and Power Pull

Scotty rushed into the lower level of the power generation section of the station and noticed that teams were rushing around to figure out how to contain the power surge happening in the Expo section of Amity. 

 

Scotty rushed towards a console and tried to reroute power to the other systems on Amity, but the surge was too large for the relays to handle. 

Reade: =/\= Scotty to Obih, come in =/\= 

Geano: =/\= Yes, sir. What do you need? =/\= 

Reade: =/\= Can you check to see if there is any way we can contain the power in the Expo hall area? 

Geano: =/\= Roger! =/\= 

As Scotty got Obih trying to come up with another solution, he walked over to another console that contained Amity’s EPS and plasma conduit master schematics. 

He was thinking of rerouting the extra power out of the Expo area and then shutting down power to that whole section of the station. The backup systems would activate and continue to only power the life-support systems. The only thing was he needed to get everyone out of the Expo area first. 

Computer: Alarm! Alarm! Power levels reaching critical maximums. 

Reade: *&$#&@. Computer reroute all power away from the Expo section of Amity. Authorization code Scotty-Omega-Alpha 1

Computer: Standby, authorizing command. Command accepted. 

oO Ok, bought us a 1hr or so Oo 

As Scotty was about to tap his combadge to ask Obih for an update, Ensign Iko’s voice came through:

Iko: =/\= How’s its going Scotty? =/\= 

Reade: =/\= Going well, I might have found a way to kill the power, but I need more time to get the solution online. I have made a temporary power change, and all extra power to the Expo area will be offline. So emergent backup systems should come online, this will keep life support running.  =/\=

Carter: =/\= Stay on it. Put everything you got on line until we can either get this thing out of here or the Ildarians make the attempt. =/\=

Reade: =/\= Understood Commander! =/\= 

Carter/Iko: =/\= Response =/\= 

Geano: =/\= Sir! I might have a solution, meet me at the console near the turbolift.  =/\= 

Reade:  =/\= On the way. =/\=

Scotty and Obih talked the plan over, they would first kill all power to that section of the station. That included the Grand Mezzanine and other areas near the Expo hall. Once the power was cut, they would activate the EPS storage system, which would capture all the extra power, and then vent the extra plasma out through the shuttle bay. 

Normally this system was used to drain Starfleet vessels of power before repairs took place.

Reade: =/\= Scotty to Ensign Iko, Commander Carter, and Commander Iovianus, I have found a way to vent the power =/\= 

Iko/Carter/Iovianus: =/\= Response =/\=  

Reade: =/\= I am going to kill all power to that area and vent the extra out of the Shuttlebay. =/\= 

Iko/Carter/Iovianus: =/\= Response =/\=  

Reade: =/\= Yes, that is correct. Do I have permission to proceed? =/\= 

Iko/Carter/Iovianus: =/\= Response =/\=  

Reade: =/\= Understood! =/\= 

Just as Scotty closed the comms channel, another warning popped up again. 

Computer: Alarm! Alarm! Power levels reaching critical maximums near the Expo hall.
