Elarrapal: If you had wished only answers to your questions, you would have consulted the knots or made an appointment. I have never claimed that what I have been shown should not be shared. ::she leaned in, and clattered her claws upon the tabletop. That she had forswarn violence in her cause did not prevent her from using the fulness of her words.:: Did one of the ministers send you? Or was it Norsel?

He'd shown such an interest in catching her up, in condemning her as too naive for their cause.

Varati: Norsel? Who’s Norsel? And no, no minister sent us. As I said, many of us were initially very positive about the promising innovations; perhaps we should have said that right away… But over time, and with the news we received from the south, doubts began to grow, the euphoria faded, and fears quickly became more and more apparent… We were too far removed from the decisions, torn between the old and the new worlds—so we set out on our own journey.

Wong: Ah! Dreadfully sorry! I suppose we allowed our curiosity to get the better of us. We only wished to hear your truth directly from you. I promise you, we have no affiliations with any of the Ministers or this Norsel.

Varati: ::to Elarrapal:: But you see, we were so excited to come here and meet someone from the movement that we’re now completely tired and exhausted from this day. ::looks around:: I think we need a little break after the delicious meal you served us and would like to meet up with you and the group again later. To clear skies!

They all seemed so…excitable. And a bit strange. Surely the Ministers would have had better candidates with which to trip her up. The sort who’d eat her food and ask a few cutting questions and not betray themselves so easily.

But she couldn’t be sure. Perhaps they were that desperate. Perhaps they thought she’d be kind to their tools to the point of foolishness.

Wong: She’s indeed correct. We really need to be getting to our lodgings for the night. But I do wish to speak to you soon.

Stros: Indeed. ::Looking to Elarrapal:: I do apologize for any ill-content we may have caused you.

Elarrapal: It is the state of our world these days. You bear only a small portion of it.

They were not the first to try such things, nor the clumsiest about it. Though the latter was a dubious honor indeed.

Moore: Response

Carefully, Stros stood from his seat, straightening his tunic.

Varati: We thank you very much, dear Elarrapal, and hope to see you again soon and to engage in intensive exchanges. May the gods of the forest and the sky be merciful to you!

Wong: Thank you very much for your time and for the meal. It was a real honour to meet you.

Elarrapal gave a little shiver at that, one that shook out her moss like clothing and sent its color shifting, for a moment, between off-white and crimson.

Elarrapal: You will be able to find me again, should it be needed. ::she turned her attention to another of the fruit.:: May the trees guide you.

Moore: Response

The strange little group of visitors made their way off then, and Elarrapal waited until she was sure they’d truly moved away before turning and tapping a pattern again into that soft spot in the tree.

If the Ministers had sent the group, then they’d likely get themselves into trouble. Make an easy target for anyone such as Norsel who wished to escalate things.

And if Norsel had sent them, they might try to escalate matters on their own. Best to have someone trustworthy keep an eye on them.

It would make her work far more difficult if they tried to get themselves killed. Let alone if they actually managed it.
