((Deck 1 - XO’s Office, USS Thor - During the Journey to Amity))

Scotty wanted to plan something for Wil’s upcoming birthday. He best thought he get some help from Geoffery Teller, as Wil worked with him before.

Reade: Commander Teller, may I come in? I have a favor to ask?

Geoff looked up from his desk console at the unexpected voice and welcomed them into his office, happy for the excuse to set aside a semi-important and extremely dull shipwide atmospheric analysis.  Apparently it was a bit too humid in several aft sections, among other scintillating highlights.

Teller:  Absolutely...Mr. Reade isn’t it?  What can I do for you?

Reade: I was planning on giving Wil a surprise birthday party? I was going to ask if you could help me set up something?

Scotty had hoped that he could Geoff on his plan. He knew they used to serve together on the Veritas as mates.

Geoff blinked, aghast.  He’d been friends with Wil for years and somehow, in the midst of all the minutia he’d been dealing with recently, he’d simply missed it.

Teller: I appreciate you mentioning it, somehow it slipped my mind.  I’d be thrilled to put something together.  In fact...I’ve got a few ideas already.

Reade: Sounds good. What do you think we should do?

Teller: Well first things first…::Geoff pushed back from his desk and stood::..do we have this party on the Thor?  Or should we save it for your new home?  It might be a good way to get to know the place.

Reade: Hmm, you make a good point, I have to think of something.

Geoff had been over the layout of the station a few times and knew there were a handful of bars and eateries but suspected an enterprising scrounger could turn up some interesting local Delta quadrant spirits as well.

Teller:  Either way, I’d strongly recommend we make music a big part of this.  Lt. Cmdr. Ukinix is an enthusiast of several archaic styles, as I suspect you’ve noticed by now.

Reade: Indeed he is, he always got some playlist running off his PADD when we are doing routine repairs. Guess he purposely goes into the Jeffries tubes to ensure that no one hears his music. I do enjoy it though, changes it up a bit.

Geoff turned to the viewport and took in the view for a moment, deep in thought.  When the epiphany came, it struck like a thunderbolt.

Teller:  Tell me Mr. Reade, any chance you’ve been to Freecloud?

Reade:  Freecloud. Yes, I have but many years ago. I was just about to join the Academy. What are you thinking?

Teller:  Oh, then maybe you’ll remember,  they’ve got these grav platforms with tables and beer taps on top that you can ride from place to place.  Basically a bar on the go.  We could fabricate one on the Thor and beam it over...bit of a housewarming present for the good Commander.  What do you think, Mr. Reade?  Up to a bit of creative engineering?

Reade:  I am totally down for this idea. I could go down to engineering and start this project. How are we going to take care of Wil though?

Geoff shrugged, relatively unconcerned.  The Thor was a big ship that Wil didn’t knowall that well and there were more than a few out of the way corners Teller could think of.  .

Teller: Won’t be a problem for construction but we’ll need accomplices if we want to pull off the delivery with some style.  Know anybody from your crew that might help?

Reade: Hmm, we should get Rivi involved. She can keep Wil busy for a bit. What do you think?

Geoff’s eyes widened a bit, surprised.

Teller: Ambitious, Mr. Reade, going straight to the top.  I like it.  ::Geoff shrugged::  Hopefully the Ambassador sees the humor in this or I fear the Thor won’t be invited back.

Reade: Sounds good. I will mention that to her.

Teller:  Excellent, now we just need to build the thing.

Geoff tapped the computer console on his desk and checked the status of the Thor’s machine shops, industrial replicator centers and shuttlebays.  Within moments he’d flagged several as off limits to all but authorized crew members on the XO’s authority.  Geoff usually wasn’t one to pull rank but he did have to admit it had advantages when performing elaborate pranks.

Reade: Shall we head down to engineering?

Teller:  Absolutely, I’ve got one of the workshops set aside for us and an industrial replicator is on standby.  We should be able to fabricate the larger components, beam them in, then assemble the whole thing in the workshop.

Scotty was pumped that he had Geoff on board for this idea. He wanted to give Wil a good surprise before we all got busy with Amity. He was thinking that this would also be a good fit for the rest of the crew.

Teller: Wil ever tell you about the time me and him accidentally built a hottub?

The pair of them took off down the hall and headed for the turbolift but Geoff called to the air before getting into the car.

Teller:  =/\= Computer, locate Ambassador Vataix =/\=
